5am workout. My cats all know when I am awake... they give me the evil cat stare of demanding their treats! It was pyramids resistance day followed by a cardio, resistance, abs session. Why am I up so early?! It’s the only time of day that I have found to dedicate to working out. I’m least likely to talk myself out of it first thing in the morning. Do I want to get out of bed? Not really. Especially when the cooler weather is setting in. Discipline is what smacks me in the face each morning and says keep going. #teambodyproject #fitnessjourney #cardioworkouts #resistancetraining #healthwarrior

There are so many ways to strengthen the back within the GST universe 👍🏽. You don’t need heavy weights to fine a mechanical disadvantage. The particular challenge of these in the beginning is finding the balance. Weights (5lbs each) are added AFTER proficiency without them is attained ✅. IF you have horrible forward head posture, perhaps you should work on fixing that FIRST ☝🏽. It’s just a suggestion. Kick ass, regardless of what day it is 👊🏽.

My New favourite Lat Exercise! 💪

It's your normal Kneeling Lat Pulldown on a Cable Machine, but with an EmpoweringPT twist 😉

By wrapping the band around your wrists you are forced to push your hands outwards, meaning you keep constant tension on your Lats!

The contraction you feel is unreal! 🤯
Great for those struggling to 🔥 their Lats.

This exercise will encourage you to pull with your Lats and less of your Biceps, while also working you harder overall 💦

Think of the Tri set I showed you the other day, it's essentially putting the first two exercises together.

"I don't want to get old and regret not trying things, even if they might have been a bit scary. 
I have struggled with my weight in the past. I let stress take over a lot. At university, I used to train all day and then was expected to rehearse and write essays at night. I drank too much and had no confidence. While I dropped a considerable amount of weight - I look back at old photos and I can see I looked skinny but not vibrant. I tried to fix it on my own, but I had no support network to help out.

You can't let fear of the unknown stop you from having a go. You will regret what you didn't try, particularly when it comes to giving yourself the most healthy and happy body you can.

I have discovered my own strength - not just physically but also my inner strength. I have become a more confident person and my relationships are stronger because of this. 
My confidence comes from more than just the way I look. It comes from feeling energised to take on the day, in planning how to achieve my goals and having direction. It comes from consistently giving it a go rather than being too concerned about the what-ifs. I have surprised myself by the things I have been able to achieve that I didn't think I ever could. 
I am learning to accept my limits and focus my decisions and actions on long-term progress rather than short-term pleasing.

It's not a finished artwork, more a work in progress." --------------------------------------------------------

Hip bridges are a phenomenal exercise. If you’re feeling your bridges too much in your quads, try putting your feet up on a chair at home! Elevated hip bridges (or glute bridges) are a great way to force the muscles in your posterior chain to contribute to the work!🍑
