Lateral hop test
A great functional test after sustaining a lower limb injury (ACL, ankle sprain/fracture etc.)
It not only assesses function, but also endurance. 
Place two points 40cm apart (video cones are not accurate) with the aim to hop and land outside of these two lines. Landing on or inside these lines do not count. 
The aim is to reach at least 90% of the total repetitions of the uninjured side within 30 seconds. Normal for Males is 55 hops and females 41 hops (Gustavsson et al., 2006)

My totals were 53 on my sound side and 39 on my previously fractured ankle side. 
Give it a go.

🦷 Dentist Day For Our “Ginger Ninja” 🦷

Not sure about the rest of you, but I don’t enjoy the dentist. The drill, the chair, that terrible suction thing.. Give me 🍷 and a Xanax before please! 
Our Ginger Ninja came to us quite disheveled, we have struggled putting weight on him in the last three weeks and it was time to call in the pro’s!

Our suspicions were confirmed, 1CM Hooks that have been causing ulcerations to his mouth and gums. - safe to say this guy was OVERDUE for a dentist visit, by a long long time! 
We are sure extremely greatful that he took it all in his stride and like the champion ex racehorse he is, he was more than happy to just get the job done and he didn’t blink an eye for his needles right after.. This is what happens when you don’t recover your muscles! This is myself trigger pointing a client’s excessively tight and spasming quadricep muscle (on both legs!!!). My client had increased his training intensity over the past 2-3 weeks, and has started to develop some symptoms of knee pain. Despite this increase in training, he had neglected to recover these muscles in the way of foam rolling, stretching or trigger balling. Hence, now his pain.

Recovery is so important. By recovering the muscles that we use, or even the muscle that work with the main muscles we use, we will experience significant improvements in muscle tightness, fatigue and even instant symptom relief. Recovery can easily be performed daily by YOU! All it takes is a quick 5min cool down using a roller or ball, or just some stretching. If you don’t know how or really just need a helping hand, that when you can pop in. 🧘🏽‍♂️ Get it sorted people!💪🏼

With all the benefits Ive listed in this series it is no wonder that more and more health conditions are being treated with exercise. From mildly debilitating conditions such as a sore knee to life threatening conditions such as cancer.

Exercise is becoming more and more available to people of all fitness and health levels, so the barriers to exercise are rapidly diminishing.

Each person was asked to reflect their inner-self within the outline. The background was to reflect how they feel they are seen in the world. The actual murals are life size. Zurzeit mache ich nur was mir Spaß bereitet!

Zweieinhalb Monate Physiotherapie liegen hinter mir und ich bin müde.
Bouldern, spazieren im Wald und viel Ruhe, dass brauche ich jetzt und ich gebe es mir auch.
〰️
Die Folgen des Hirnabszesses lassen ein normales Leben noch immer nicht zu.
Aber was ist schon ein normales Leben? 
Mein Leben verlief noch nie normal, darum komme ich auch mit diesem Ausnahmezustand leichter zurecht.
〰️
Unterstützt wird das auch von meiner verminderten Denkfähigkeit, die mir noch immer kaum Gedanken in die Zukunft oder Vergangenheit ermöglicht. Ich kann das Denken nicht erzwingen und lebe im Jetzt.

Das war am Anfang nicht leicht zu verstehen, aber mittlerweile habe ich es akzeptiert.
Vor dem Hirnabszess war ich auf der Suche nach dem HIER und JETZT, aber zuviele Verpflichtungen ließen es nicht zu.
Mein betroffenes Gehirn hält mich im JETZT und läßt keine Gedanken außerhalb zu!

УПРАЖНЕНИЯ ПРИ ДОРСОПАТИИ ПОЯСНИЧНОГО ОТДЕЛА ПОЗВОНОЧНИКА.

Подборка упражнений, воздействующих на поясничный отдел позвоночника. Они имеют разную характеристику: - Два упражнения призваны укрепить поясничный отдел (2, 4);
- Два упражнения направлены на укрепление брюшной стенки, т.к. за наш позвоночник отвечают мышцы всего мышечного корсета, а не только поясничной области (5, 6);
- Три упражнения для растяжения и расслабления мышечного корсета позвоночника (1,3,7). Упражнения подобраны таким образом, чтобы получился комплекс.
Применять в стадии ремиссии и при стихании сильных болевых ощущений.

1) Положение из йоги "собака мордой вниз". Стараемся выпрямить ноги в коленном суставе и опустить пятки на пол. При неспособности это выполнить, пятками упираемся в стену, а колени присгибаем. Или подкладываем под пятки предмет. Руками всегда отталкиваемся от пола (20-60 секунд - 2-3 раза). 2) Лёжа на животе, руки вытянуты вперёд, ноги прямые, носки натянуты на себя. Попеременное невысокое поднимание перекрестно одной руки и противоположной ноги. Главное не то, насколько высоко поднимете руку! Важно  потянуться рукой и ногой в противоположные стороны (10-16 раз - 2 раза);
3) Руки на стул, стену, выполнить наклон, потянувшись тазом назад. Таз в получившемся положении должен оказаться над стопами, а угол между корпусом и ногами составлять 90 градусов (20-60 секунд - 2-3 раза);
4) Лёжа на животе, под областью таза (подвздошными костями) полотенце или гимнастический коврик, сложенный в 4 раза. Приподнять ноги, развести на 15-20 см, вернуться в и.п., носки стараемся натянуть на себя. Важно не то, как вы высоко поднимаете ноги, а то, насколько хорошо вы тянете их. Выполняем медленно (8-16 раз - 2 раза);
5) Лёжа на спине. Стараемся скруглить поясничный отдел (чтобы не было нетипичного гиперлордоза, если не получается, то можно подложить небольшой валик из свернутого полотенца). Приподнимаем ноги вверх так, чтобы угол в тбс составлял 90 градусов. Разводим ноги в стороны, затем соединяем. Стопы натянуты на себя. Выполняем медленно. Если возникают неприятные ощущения в поясничном отделе - снижаем амплитуду разведения ног (10-16 раз - 2 раза);

Atlas is officially in training! 
Unfortunately many SD handlers and dog owners in general get tricked by "dog trainers" who claim to know what they are doing and often leave the dog worse than when they arrived. Unfortunately it's not a topic that is widely discussed and I truly hope to change that. Because of his last trainer he is tool shy, gear shy, potty shy, and has horrible crate anxiety to the point of injuring himself trying to escape. NEVER correct a dog for fear or anxiety, you will only reinforce their fear of said item.  After just one training session with me, he has made huge improvements and I look forward to watching him gain his confidence back! I will post updates on his progress tomorrow!

Задумывались ли Вы над темой сна? Хорошо ли Вы спите? Высыпаетесь ли? Сколько Вы спите?

Давайте обсудим эту тему.
✔️Взрослому человеку советуют спать 7—8 часов в день.
Подростку чуть больше - 8—9 часов.
✔️Но также важно соблюдать ряд правил, чтобы чувствовать себя выспавшимся и бодрым.
.
Вот несколько советов:
✔️ложиться и вставать в одно и то же время. Несмотря на выходной или будний день.
✔️Перед сном успокоиться. За час прекратить заниматься делами, отбирающими много психологической энергии, не сидеть за компьютером, телевизором, телефоном. Лучше немного успокоиться, заняться собой, пообщаться с близкими людьми.
✔️Ложиться не позже 12 часов, а лучше в 10-11 часов. И вставать не позже 9-10 часов. Человек может себя чувствовать настолько же плохо от излишнего сна, как и от недосыпа.
✔️Утром сделать легкую зарядку на 15-20 минут, чтобы почувствовать себя бодрым, полным сил, и получить заряд позитивных эмоций.
✔️Спать на хороших матрасе и подушке. От этого зависит не только ваш сон, но и здоровье позвоночника. Правильно подобрать подушку и матрас поможет ортопед или консультант в ортопедическом салоне.
✔️Для комфортного пробуждения сейчас существует множество различных гаджетов, которые анализируют сон и будят человека в быструю фазу сна.

Немного про ФАЗЫ СНА:
1. Медленный сон характеризуется Расслаблением мышц, учреждением пульса, ровным дыханием, понижением температуры тела, реалистичностью сновидений, длительностью 1-1,5 часа
2. Быстрый сон характеризуется сокращением мышц, учащением дыхания и пульса, повышением температуры тела, длительностью 15-20 минут.
