Inspirational Flower Photo of the Day: #pomegranate
yesterday I talked about one of my ongoing vegetable fails in being unable to be productive growing potted plants, other than succulents of course. But today I’ll highlight one of my strengths as a #novicefarmer .......#fruittrees
I think a couple of secrets to my success in my survival rates and yields I’ve had the last seven years as a homeowner, is my in-depth understanding of how trees grow, and #soilscience background. More importantly, I treat every tree as an individual. Its so important to inspect each tree almost every day to make sure everything is going right and to see any signs of trouble- especially with Irrigation. I have never had fruit trees on a timer/automated system, since the weather changes so often and soil conditions are unique, I always hand water. that way I can not only apply the appropriate flow rate, but also control how many gallons each tree is getting. Gallons needed is based on its needs from the current daytime highs, nighttime lows, sun exposure and particular stage of fruit production....among other factors of course.
