This is Marketing, You Can’t Be Seen Until You See by @SethGodin. As some of you know, I have launched an online boutique @bprimitive_clothing. In this short time, since the launch, I have realized that I am lacking a lot of knowledge in marketing. They really should teach these things in those expensive private universities, ahem Loyola! If you have business/marketing/e-commerce book reccomendations - please share!
If you are like me, who has no experience with marketing and doesn’t know much about key ideas - this book is a great starting point.
Below are key ideas I took for myself: * Your brand has to tell a story.
* Don’t try to personalize your work. You have to make it personal.
* Nobody needs your product, they want your product.
* Take people on a journey, help them become the person they’ve dreamed of becoming. * Make an assertion, outline a promise, choose your extremes, find people you seek to change and show up with an offer. * Find your customer, your niche and aim there. It pays more to have a returning customer, who will spread the word, then making a one time sale. * Three-step narrative for action: The story of self, the story of us and the story of now. Who you were, why you are doing this? Why are we alike and what connects us? Why should we go on this journey together, how can we make things better together?
The book is filled with more detailed ideas, explanations and how to’s. The book itself is a very easy read! Goes into my recommended pile! My book #7 for this year 😎 very happy that i am still on track with my goal.
