Pull day today!!
Didn't plan on hitting a new PR, but it was done! Took a challenge from @mrcincinnati16 to pull 285 for 4-6 reps. I accepted it, as I haven't done that in 2ish years. I also tried sumo stance.. felt good. I may stick to that. I saw his 285, upped it to 6 reps of 315! Then hit 365 for 1! 
I'll be honest here.. deadlifts kinda scare me sometimes. I tweaked my sciatic nerve a couple of years ago trying to hit a new PR. Taking a couple years off of deadlifts, working on my form, finding what works for me still, I'm working on getting back up there! Being afraid to do something isn't ALWAYS a bad thing. Just don't stay that way. If you're like me, in time, it pisses you off, you get over it, and step bar up to that bar with the weight that you hurt yourself with. Only way to push through and improve. Needless to say, I'm pretty damn happy! -3rd one here, you want to keep your elbows in, drive to the ground, keeping lats engaged at all times. Slow reps, really stretching up top. 3 sets 12-15, upping weight if you can. -4th here, same thing... drive your elbows into the ground, keeping your shoulder out of it. Keep the weight slightly behind you. 3 sets 12-15. 
I included some biceps, a few core workouts that I can film at another time. .

Crowded gym. Tender calf. Tight hip. So I found a little corner spot and did some supersets. 5 rounds 10-12 reps each. Step ups hurt today. So did leg press. So I abandoned both and finished with 100 each banded hip thrusts and banded lunges. Got a lot done in an efficient workout while working around my injury. Most people are doing day 2 of Transform 20 and it looked pretty scary.. I’m a little jealous, but also, so very happy that I stuck with something that I knew would be more on my level for where I’m at right now. .
If you saw my story you saw that I talked about how I’ve had to adjust to things differently because of my size before. One of those things is having to switch to extra wide and thick resistant bands. Some people would let that get them down, but you can’t do that or else you’ll just keep hitting other situations that keep you from where you want to be. .
If you want to start your journey too, let me know and we can do this together!

Still working to beat my current squat record. I worked up to 95 lb’s, which is what I’m squatting here. Haven’t done these in a long time. I am working on building my strength back up so I can start lifting a little heavier. Leg day killed today. The THEN and the NOW

It’s not the number on the scale or the size of my pants that matters. What matters is that I feel strong AF mentally and physically when before I felt none of that 🏹

It’s been a ton of hard work but hard work that has been 100% worth it. What I have going on is not a quick fix. It’s a plan that a busy person is fully capable of doing to get and maintain results... it’s a lifestyle of balance❄️

Are some people naturally better at certain skills? Of course, but people that are really good at something practice and practice to become great.

I hated being on camera.

It’s awkward, hated my voice, the way I looked and even just felt dumb.

How did I get over that?

Repetition.

Forced myself out of my comfort zone and just made stories or took pictures of myself.

Now it doesn’t bother me and the next skill I’m working on is the way I speak and deliver my message.

Point being, everything in life takes repetition to perfect.  Don’t ever think someone is naturally gifted at something.  99.9% chance they worked and worked and worked some more on that skill.

Tight hips? Here is some band work I have start doing to open up my hips, especially my bad hip, my aim is improve the rotation of my hip and flexion. the hip is a ball and socket joint and when the hip capsule is tight, your body may compensate from either up or down the body. When FAI and labral tears are present, symptoms reduce hip mobility in flexion, rotation, and adduction. So by Improving hip mobility it will not only improve your performance, it will also help reduce risk of hip and low back pain down the road.

-Begin on your hands and knees in a quadruped position, feet flat
On sides. Put the  band as close as you can to the hip joint.
-Allow the band to pull either laterally (1st video ) or inferiorly (2nd video)
-Sit back until the desired stretch is felt. Move further away from band then to increase the pull on the hip joint. Stop if there is pain. You also have the option to rotate the hip into external rotation (pigeon stretch) or internal rotation. Videos sped up x4 .
