I’ve been changing a lot of my beliefs in the past few months.
More than usual.
One of the things I used to believe is that as an empath, I feel other people’s feelings easily. I no longer believe this.
Because I don’t believe that I have a feeling simply because other people do. I believe my thoughts cause my feelings.
Thus, my old thought that I feel other people’s feelings easily was really just because I had THOUGHTS about what other people were feeling.
That’s an important distinction.
Since I’ve stopped believing that I feel other people’s feelings easily, I haven’t suffered or been as affected by others as much.
Imagine that, eh?
Why? Because I’m thinking differently, and my thoughts cause my feelings so it makes sense that I would be feeling differently.
When I was strongly identifying that way as an empath, I struggled more. I felt more tired, more drained.
It was all because of the way I was thinking about it.
I was giving my power away to others. Instead of owning the power of MY thoughts and feelings.
I no longer go about in the world worried that I’ll be affected by everything and everyone and will feel drained.
I get to choose what thoughts I want to believe and focus on and create for myself.
I choose to think that I am the only one creating my feelings, and that causes me to feel more empowered than I ever have.
It’s up to YOU what you want to believe about yourself. What thoughts you want to give power to, and which ones you don’t.
