P O S T 〰️ So I often hear runners say that they don't love running while they are doing it, they love the post-run high. That is generally how I feel about any cardio, running or otherwise. The post-workout high is real and it is blissful. I find that to be true of a lot of things; laundry, cleaning, dishes, etc. You may not love it while you are doing it, but you love the feeling of accomplishment afterward. So here is to getting stuff accomplished whether a workout, dishes, a project, cooking a meal, or just getting out of bed.

Relearned how to do deadlifts properly today. Turns out I’ve been kinda doing squats since I started training again! Now I know where to bend from, the result is worlds apart. Helps when someone shows you how after a time out from the weights 🤗 ALSO MUST REMEMBER: when basal is low/off for ages for training, the next meal hits me like a BUS 🚌 and raises my levels SUPER FAST. If anyone wants there legs, ass and arms on fire then just get yourself along to @c.s_fitness_ pump class. I swear to god my whole body was shaking off how hard I worked and I’ve never felt burning like it in all my life. It has been a long time since I got a good workout in. Cardio and Jillian Micheals. Working my way slowly back to where I was. I hate having to start over. I have had to do it a few times in the past year. It is amazing how fast you can fall out of shape and get fat! Grr!! Why does this all have to be such a fight?! I will get there again. When you literally kill your workout. No better feeling 💪🏼...10 mins on stairmaster, crosstrainer and rower followed by a legs, bums and tums class which literally finished me off. Legs were shaking to pieces and I can feel my muscles are sore already. Une fille de mon groupe a parlé de #postworkouthigh et ça m’a tellement rejoint 🙌🏻 Je le répète souvent, mais pour une fille comme moi qui n’aime pas l’entraînement, j’ai besoin d’une raison “puissante” pour #showup avec constance! Le faire pour les résultats physiques est ma pire option... ou ma meilleure façon d’échouer! Depuis que j’ai compris cet aspect, j’ai souvent partagé que mon why est lié à la gestion de mes émotions, la force mentale et l’énergie que j’en retire! My best friend is also my favorite #piyolive instructor. How lucky am I?! Keeping up on your friendships can be a challenge. We all have busy schedules and important people in our lives to make time for. Combining friendships with fitness is magical. I wasn't able to say more than a few sentences to her today but I felt a great connection to her. Watching and experiencing her doing something she loves, which at the same time is benefiting my health and happiness, creates an amazing bond. We share the same passions yet are able to appreciate our differences. Love you @ali.hein I don't say it enough. Thanks for class tonight!

We’re halfway through the week, friends!

.
I don’t know about you but this year is already so busy and we’re just barely two weeks in. 😅 So in order to prevent burnout and maintain my sanity when being pulled in different directions, I prioritize myself first. And yes, staying active and eating wholesome foods are at the top of this list but this comes pretty naturally to me now and there are other things I am (trying to be) more mindful about. And that means saying “yes” to things that fill me up and a “hell no” to those that don’t serve me anymore. It means spending more time with people who appreciate my value and worth and not asking for anything less. It’s taking more active rest days (I’m guilty of spending one too many on the couch. 🙋🏾‍♀️). And this year, it also means taming that sugar dragon and paying a little more intention to those internal cues because I know full well that those 9 pm pantry raids aren’t due to hunger. It also means limiting my time on social media because helloooo, time sink. #byefelicia .

It’s a Wednesday, I haven’t used weights since August 😱, it’s cold, I’m tired, I don’t want to get out of bed.. all reasons why I didn’t want to get up and workout today.. But I did it!! First weight lifting workout post breaking my arm was a success!! 🙌🏼
Yes I used 5 pound weights, yes I had to modify at times, yes I was sore.. but now that it’s done, I’m so glad I got up and did it! Day 1 of this 6 week program ✅  20 minutes, 237 calories burned, some awesome motivation from @shaunt. Guys, this is LEGIT how I felt after my workout today.  And this was also after cleaning my entire house.  In fact....as I type out this post I'm still on my feet making dinner.  That's pretty much 8+ hours on my feet....and I still feel amazing! .
.
Although it may seem like it, I don't always want to workout.  There are days where it's the absolute last thing I want to do.  Two things convince me to get it done. .
.
1️⃣ My Mom Tonic.  My Liquid Gold.  My Pre-Workout.  It is an all natural, great tasting, energy boost that doesn't give you the jitters or crash that some other Pre-Workouts do.  A scoop or two mixed with some water and off I go!  Ready to conquer life. .

2️⃣ Knowing how good I'll feel afterwards.  This one is hard to do sometimes, especially if I'm tired, stressed, on Shark Week (real life people), or if I'd much rather watch Netflix (and chill, obvi 😉). .

It’s been such a J O Y to ease back into my fitness routine after a couple of weeks off (still worked out during the holidays but it certainly wasn’t as intense. Just enough to get some movement in). And you know it’s never ever about losing weight or burning calories! It’s simply about gaining strength and enjoying being active so I can continue to live my best life. .
.
It was the first full work week last week and it was admittedly a little challenging to stay motivated about getting my workouts in but what helped the most was scheduling sweat dates with friends - thank goodness for accountability buddies. Also, plentyyyy of sleep! My body definitely demanded it. 💤 .
.
This weekend was no different: plenty of rest, joyful movement, nourishing eats (meal prep done and dusted 🙌🏾) and invigorating conversations that all have me energized for the week ahead. No Sunday scaries today. :)

Day 5! 2 days away from completing my workouts on time for once!! Easy when it’s only a week long. HOWEVER!!!! We had family movie night tonight so I almost said F** it but here I am feeling proud and good about myself.. ..

I realize that a lot of you might think oh I could never do that. Well I can honestly say you shouldn’t start out with Shaun week. But think about how proud of yourself you would be if you went for a 30 min walk every day next week or maybe you ate a salad or veggies everyday for lunch instead of your usual carb gorge. Set a new small goal for yourself every day/week, something small and attainable. YOU DESERVE TO BE PROUD OF YOURSELF!!! Who freakin cares about how small your goal is!?!? Just do it and get it done!! YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Glad to be back at it 💪🏼 I had a couple of days off and let my shoulder heal and it done wonders. Today’s workout was a sweaty one consisting off the stair master and cross trainer. Don’t dwell on the numbers, so many ppl ask me how much do u bench or lift in any of the major compound movements, and yes everyone prides themselves in how much they can lift. But all that does is help boost ego and to me that’s something that needs to stay out of gyms today. I don’t train because I can squat 295, or deadlift 335 I train because it gives me absolute tranquillity within myself and helps me life live with happiness and discover my passion in life. 
I’m not saying it bad to lift heavy, far from it, I’m stating that don’t look down on others just because you lift more that does not mean you train harder or with more passion cuz I can assure you no one trains harder then me. With that being said for me I do not benefit from doing PR attempts every second day. This is how excited I was after today's workout👊 
Believe me, I really didn't feel like going today...but I dragged myself to the gym, did a quick 30min workout and as always felt great afterwards. 
Any workout is effective, doesn't always have to be a back breaking, 60 minute sweatathon.
What's important is that you get out there at least three times a week .
We don't all have to be size 6 or have a abs of steel but what is important is to have a healthy lifestyle and stay active.
Benefits of exercise include:
✔Improved mood and mental health
✔Preserving muscle and bone mass
✔Reduced risk of various diseases such as cardiovascular disease ie stroke and heart attacks and some cancers
✔Help keep weight off - so after yesterday's Christmas binge, why not get outside and work off some of that Christmas pudding👊
