3️⃣ days until the 2019 NFL Draft!
Bills 3 round mock draft 2.0:
Round 1, Pick 9
TE T.J. Hockenson, Iowa
Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane both seem to be really emphasizing how important TE Greg Olsen was to Cam Newton when he was just starting out, so Hockenson seems like a very logical pick at 9, although a little high for some people’s liking to take a tight end. Hockenson would be a very reliable target for Josh Allen and is an excellent blocker too. Personally, I wouldn’t hate this Pick at all because of the previous reasons and the Bills offense could really benefit from a star tight end.
Round 2, Pick 8 (40th overall)
DE Rashan Gary, Michigan
Gary has been mocked to the Bills at pick 9 in a few mock drafts, but his stock seems to be all over the place and in this specific simulation he fell to the second round. Gary’s college stats definitely don’t jump off the screen for a big time defensive end, but Gary is very good at causing havoc and creating pass rush lanes. An edge rusher definitely seems like something Brandon Beane has been looking for this offseason, and I would expect them to address that desire at some point in the draft, in this case with Rashan Gary.
Round 3, Pick 10 (74th overall)
OT Yodny Cajuste, West Virginia
Offensive line is another thing the Bills will likely look to add in the NFL Draft, especially offensive tackle, and Cajuste is a very good player. He’s another prospect who seems to have an unknown stock, with some mocks having him selected in the first round, while others have him in the second or third. The offensive line is definitely significantly improved from last year, but new starting RT Ty Nsekhe is 33 years old, so drafting an eventual replacement, especially of Cajuste’s caliber certainly wouldn’t be a bad move.
