My first official day back to that work-from-home-freelance-life and what do I do? Spend all day doing all the projects I’ve been dreaming about for 6 months. Yesterday I built a bathroom shelf (for $12) built a frame for our projector, hung a plant, cleaned the entire house, bought a new kitchen rug, watered all of our plants (twice, for good measure.. were gone a week) and painted a new piece for the bathroom. At some point during the day Tyler yelled “I LOVE OUR NEW BATHROOM” (because of the changes) and I melted a little. That feeling, the one that makes you take a deep breath, feel safe, or feel full and happy inside, is exactly what I desire every single area of my home to feel like. Whether you’re in the kitchen or the closet, the bedroom or the living room; whether it’s the plants, or the crystals, the rugs or the way you sink into my couch, I want this place to feel like home. To feel safe. To feel calm and quiet..and I finally feel like I’ve accomplished a bit of that.
I hope you’re having the most wonderful weekend, and that tomorrow is full and bright for you as you celebrate the men who have loved you well in this life. send a text, make a call— life moves fast, don’t hesitate to let ‘em know you love ‘em. happy Father’s Day, friends!
As an aside, and on the topic of home aesthetic: Do you have aesthetic necessities? Blankets are big for me. and mugs. I love a good mug. What are your creature comforts and what makes you feel most at home? 🏼 - 2 hours ago
