Hmm...this new plant day should have left me feeling blissful, but I’m pretty disappointed. My #zamiaimperialis (fka #zamiaskinneri ) arrived today and as I excitedly opened its box, my smile turned into a disappointed and uncertain frown. Every picture I’ve seen of this species has shown it either with its red/salmon new leaf or with the older lush green leaves. This plant’s leaves are splotched with unhealthy-looking yellow and light green. Kind of looks like either too much sun or a nutrient deficiency. It was only bareroot since Saturday and not shipped far at all. I think the grower (located in Central FL) kept it outside during the winter, so could it be cold damage? What say you, #cycad -knowledgeable friends? I know nothing about #cycads , but I know this one doesn’t look right. I’ve never really cared for them until I saw a photo of this species and knew I had to have it. This is a very slow growing plant and it was not cheap to acquire so this is a disappointment. Also, did I pot its caused too deeply? HELP, please!
