Я абсолютный фанат движения 🛴🚲🏃🏼‍♀️

Пробежаться с детьми наперегонки; провести воскресенье в велосипедном седле; переплыть реку туда и обратно; в любой непонятной ситуации расстелить коврик и заняться (естественно!!) пилатесом - все эти и многие другие виды физической активности как ничто другое наполняют меня энергией, поднимают настроение и, конечно, помогают сохранить здоровую физическую форму, столь необходимую для полноценной жизни.
⠀ 
И я очень рада, что у меня есть возможность вписывать движение в повседневность - без необходимости ходить в спортзал, бассейн или заниматься на тренажерах.
⠀ 
Я стараюсь - как минимум, потому, что очень это люблю - много ходить пешком; избегаю лифтов (например, в гостях у родителей в Питере при любой возможности поднимаюсь на шестнадцатый этаж и спускаюсь вниз пешком); в магазины (в радиусе как минимум десяти километров) езжу на велосипеде, а если поближе, беру самокат или, опять же, просто иду; если приходится куда-то добираться на общественном транспорте, рассчитываю время так, чтобы можно было выйти на пару остановок раньше и пройтись.

Я не раз замечала, что оставшись по какой-либо причине без движения, мое тело начинает болеть. Я чаще раздражаюсь и инстинктивно начинаю искать источник энергии в чем-то, организму совершенно ненужном, - переедаю, например.

К счастью, эти ситуации редки. Тем более, что в семье меня окружают весьма подвижные единомышленники ☺️ Муж и мальчики тоже всегда «за» активное времяпрепровождения 🚀 И занятия спортом для всех нас не наказание, испытание или искупление, а исключительно радость и удовольствие ❇️

Joining in today with #usewhatyouhavepilates @tonedbyclaudia and @pilatesplaceyyc and my props of choice this week are a mini foam roller and my dressing table stool 😁👍🛋
Both were pretty unstable so this was quite a challenge... shoulder stabilisers working hard to keep my arms still and trunk muscles working super hard to prevent me from falling off the stool or losing torso position (not entirely successful!) with the weight of the legs🦵💪

Trying to strengthen all the muscles that surround the knee can be a tad tricky especially in this quad dominate world that we live in. 😉 💪

No one likes knee pain but it is super common - even more so when descending from the top of a mountain 🏔! I feel like I’ve suddenly become a grandma as I exclaim ‘oh my knees!’ 👵 💥

One of the muscles that can be hard to activate and just doesn’t get enough attention in general is the good old inner thigh! 👍 ⚡️ ✨Leg lift and lower ✨Horizontal pulses in lifted position ✨Small circles (in both directions) ✨Vertical pulses *Transition* ✨Leg lift and lower (it will feel super heavy now!) ✨Pulses ✨Mini kicks with foot in turned out position ✨Foot turned in and then out ✨Hold! 🔥 🔥

In the side lying position make sure the top leg is completely relaxed and your bottom waist is lifted. In the seated position make sure you keep your back as neutral as possible and hold your opposite knee right into your chest. 👀 👀

The great thing about inner thighs is you don’t need to work them for very long to really feel them working! Woohoo! #letsgo #pilatesinstructor #travelworkout #hiker

🌟T H I G H  stretch  A N Y O N E❓🌟
If an exercise speaks to you, then use it🙌
This exercise it's my touchstone, an indicator of how tight are my hips, thighs and lower back. Besides this exercise, there are others challenging exercises which also position you in the shape of the Thigh Stretch except in a horizontal orientation, like Shoulder Bridge on the Mat and the Semi Circle on the Reformer, which gives the same  pushy and clenchy with my hips and thighs. I often think of Thigh Stretch as a great teacher of elegantly lengthening the body, actually and an excellent teacher to your backbends for sure. I hace added a little thoracic rotation for an extra challenge and must say that I was shaking like a leaf.😬😬

I've been with @studio_elevate_la for over three years now. It has been my privilege to grow as a teacher within these walls. I have met the most wonderful people, taught alongside some very talented women, and had the pleasure of training others to teach. It has been a blessing.

This adorable rascal is the reason I did not do a Monday motivation workout today. She decided to nap less than an hour the whole day which left me enough time to do just one thing on my to do list😬. Usually her naps are the time I shoot videos and write my tutorials for Peaceful Dumpling. When she sleeps at night, I go teach my privates while trying to fit in cooking, laundry, eating and cleaning. Kaia has never been the type of baby that I could leave to play independently and go do something else. She needs a lot of interaction and stimulation which is great, but sooo exhausting! Sometimes I get super stressed and frazzled bc it’s just not humanly possible to get everything done in a day/week. Then I get into bed completely depleted and I start watching videos like this of her cuz I miss her!!! Spending these early years with her has been such a gift. As stressful as it can get, I wouldn’t have it any other way❤️❤️❤️. When do you moms that work part time or from home find time to do your work?? #mondaymotivation #oneyearoldshenanigans

Do you practice?
Here I am setting up on my “day off” from the studio (well... you can’t really see me, I’m behind the camera).
I am setting up for my Skype class with the amazing @properpilates 
I personally train online, in the studio and learn from @properpilates a minimum of 4 times per week, usually 5. 
It’s a commitment I have to myself, the Method and my clients to be the best version of myself I can be. To know The Work in my own body only helps me teach better and share more with my clients. 
Today my practice involved the Mat, Tower and some Wunda Chair.
The sense of vitality, strength, warmth!!! and happiness from a regular practice is not just words... it’s seriously real..

This weeks running training tip is about food....seafood anyone 🤣⠀

Here are my three important tips:⠀
1. Correct fueling for your body: You need to make sure you have enough energy to sustain the effort you are exerting. And as your training sessions will vary, so will your fueling needs. ⠀
⠀
2. Not all foods are equal: Know what foods are the right ones to give you optimal energy & help the body recover. Sugar might give you a quick kick, but it won't sustain your training or assist in the recovery process.⠀
⠀
3. Don't cut out food groups(!): Carbs are not your enemy... they are your energy! ⠀
⠀
If you have any questions about what you should (or should not) be eating you can have a chat to a dietician ( @bonniehancock is my go to for Gold Coast locals).
