Another meal prep going down! I always do my meal prep’s on Sundays and Thursdays. This sets me up for the entire week. On Sundays I cook for Monday through Thursday and on Thursdays I cook for Friday through Sunday. I have all of my meals prepared except two of them (breakfast and Meal 6 which is just rice cakes, peanut butter and banana). I don’t cook breakfast because I always wake up extra early so I can cook a big meal and have it fresh. Prepping your meals allows for efficiency throughout the week especially with a busier schedule....

Just a friendly reminder that your diet is just as or even more important than your exercise is. A healthy body starts in the kitchen. Have a well-balanced diet, remember to include lots of water, vitamins/ minerals (wether you get them through foods or dietary supplements), lots of Whole Foods and stay away from processed foods and foods high in artificial sugars. I’ve been meal prepping for about 3 years now (since the beginning of senior year of high school). My parents love it because they haven’t had to cook a meal for me in about 3 years 😂. I have mostly all of my personal clients doing their own meal preps and the results are overwhelming. Consistency is key! One of the most important things you can do when implementing change is to do it little by little. For example, changing your diet. Where people make the mistake is not in the new diet, it's at the point where they change too many things all at once. They will start to track all of their food, weigh out all the food, only eat select things, and start like that. These changes are too drastic for someone just starting out and they will eventually become tired of this new way of doing things and revert back to their old ways. It's best to make small changes that lead up to this level of fitness. This can be started by switching some unhealthy foods that you are currently eating to a healthier alternative. Then, plan out eating more frequently, but with smaller meals. Then, track some of the food you are eating and finally get to the point where I was talking about before. This process should be done slow and steady and not contain things that are too advanced at the time. This can be applied with many things in life!

Okay so one of my favourite muscles to workout is my traps. Not many exercises you can do to grow them so it’s not as often but it is a muscle that kind of grows on its own from lifting any sort of weights. It’s definitely a beauty muscle that shows in a shirt and without a shirt. Here is a good pic of mine and slowly growing. Feels good. Also, never taking a picture with flash again because my eyes look really weird lol

The fat in this area is the bane of everybody's existence, especially guys. The fat sits on the 'love handles' and goes around to the lower back. It is the first place to store fat, and the last place to burn off from. So keeping these things in mind will help tons! (Never do side bends, they serve no purpose. They are useless. Ignore the already ripped guy or girl doing them! Thank you.)

Strengthen your lower back. There is a strong correlation between having a weak lower back and the presence of love handle fat. There is also a strong correlation between having a STRONG lower back and VERY LITTLE love handle fat 😊. The best way to strengthen it is to deadlift heavy!

Obviously, to burn fat you need to stay on point with nutrition. The picture above says it all!
•
Wide lats tapering down into your lower back will make it look smaller, making the love handles less prominent. Heavy rows and pulldowns are the best way to build muscle on your lats.

Developed shoulders also serve the same purpose. And for men, it is scientifically proven that having a 1.45 : 1 shoulder to waist ratio is the most sexually appealing physique according to women. This should be enough motivation for you to build your shoulders!

With my current weight at 93.4kg and having been in a surplus for 16 weeks now it’s time to shift this gut and see if I can beat this shape from March this year💪🏻

Training will be the trusty Legs, Push, Pull split with my cardio mainly being Low Intensity Steady State (LISS) with the occasional metcon thrown in. My main focus is to maintain and even progress my strength over all lifts and keep my nutrition as balanced and as fun as possible i.e still eat cereal and sweets if I feel like it 😉

Official stage pictures are pending. But this is one of my favourite pictures captured. Relaxed, no tensing, no squeezing, just complete mental focus. I was the 41st athlete on stage, as I was one of the last qualifiers. So the judges had already seen everyone else. But I remained calm and mentally focussed and made sure I gave my best when I finally got to the front of the stage.

My weakness in the gym is... squats... I actually hate them, I find it the most exhausting exercise ever! I never put alot of weight on it because it’s so heavy for me, I just don’t like the movement of it, I like sumo deadlifts and romanian deadlifts way more then squats... but I still do them because it’s an important exercise 💪🏻 I do 2 days with sumo deadlifts and 1 day with squats 👀 what is your weakness in the gym? .

I’ve been getting requests to do more cardio related posts, I’m quite busy this weekend so here’s an oldie I made a while back.

This is a form of HIIT cardio that I’ve used and really liked.

This type of interval training is great if you like a time efficient cardio session.

It’s flexible and has many applications.

HOW TO GET STRONGER ABS by @muneeb.mash

I talked about why you need stronger abs in one of my most recent posts. Now I will tell you how exactly you can get them. This is the exact workout that I have found will get you stronger abs.
•
Hanging leg raises are one of the hardest ab exercises to master. You need an already strong abs. It will target your lower abs, your lats, and even forces the obliques to play a small part.
•
Weighted planks is another exercise that you can easily load up the weight with. Instead of increasing the minutes and seconds, put some load on top of you and try to go for 1 minute on the clock. Once you achieve that, increase the load.
•
Cable pulldown crunch is what I do to load up the weight on abs as well as the lats. Almost NOBODY knows that your lats are also a part of your core. This is an exercise that will hit both lats and abs. So if you go heavier, you can definitely get a stronger core!
•
Push-up Plus is something I first learned from Athlean-X and it's importance for a stronger core. Your serratus anterior muscle, the finger-like muscles between your obliques and lower chest. They provide stability for all pushing movements like bench press and overhead press. All you do is reach further once you get to the top position of the push up. When you hit failure, just continue with the reaching further part till you hit failure there.

HOW TO LOSE FAT IN STUBBORN AREAS by @muneeb.mash

I get the feeling. You are fairly lean in every area of your body but there are some areas that always carry fat no matter what. For most guys it is the lower back and love handle area. Including me 😂 LOL
•
I've found that the best to fix this is just being in the right hormonal environment.
•
Not having carbs for breakfast and dinner means no insulin spikes. Insulin interferes with fat burning. Growth hormone is released during sleep, so why would want to interrupt that with insulin by eating carbs? Same goes for training. Eat carbs 2hrs before training.
•
This is the only time low intensity cardio is useful for fat loss. Do it before eating breakfast fasted and your body will use fat as the primary fuel source.
•
Again, research confirms that consuming 1.5 grams of protein per lb. of bodyweight burns more fat than if you eat 1 gram or less. You will also preserve muscle.
•
And obviously, you cant lose fat on a caloric deficit. Fur stubborn areas you need only to stay in a slight caloric deficit. Keep it at 250 kcal every time you hit a plateau (and before you start reverse dieting).
•
The less fat you have the harder it is to lose. Thats how some areas become stubborn. So a lot of patience is required. No cheat days over here, my man!
