Another fond memory of Dale was this night at Motukiekie Beach shooting the Milky Way above these awesome star fish.
Dale had this all planned out, it was another of his many bucket list shots he wanted and knew tonight was the night the moon phase, tides, Milky Way position & weather were all right for the shot. Getting here is pretty sketchy, waves always crashing over the rocks and these big deep channels everywhere that if you fell in, it wouldn't end well..
I had recently been swept away by a wave just up the beach on a sunrise shoot (which hurt a LOT) & am not the most fond person of messing with the ocean, so I was too scared to venture out 40m from shore on these crazy rocks in the dark. But Dale knew I'd regret it, so pushed and pushed me to get out there with him, even yelling at me across the beach to hurry up when he was already there.
Thanks to him I faced my fear and joined him, slightly pooping my pants whenever a wave was coming and came away some of the coolest shots ever! He was all about helping people in whatever way he could, even if it meant sharing his bucket list shot he put the hard work in for.
