THE POWER OF PHOTOSHOP
I hate the first photo, my loved ones can try and convince me it’s a bad angle, but still, if I look like that from ANY angle I’m not happy. I have put probably drastically weight on since last year, but I’ve been much happier and less ill so, whatever. I’m sure I’ll lose the weight when I start eating better.
The point of this post is not about me letting myself go. It’s about the things Photoshop can do to change your body. I work in this field, I have over 10 years experience with working with it, so I can do it. But it doesn’t mean I, or anyone, should.
People should not feel the need to do this. They should be happy with their bodies regardless. But as this process is done with ALL photos we see in the media, it’s how we expect to look.
Photoshop, in regards to editing photos, should be used to change lighting and sharpness only. I wish I looked like that second photo, but I don’t. If we saw more photos with imperfections, maybe we wouldn’t feel different. Maybe we could learn to love ourselves the way we are. - 53 minutes ago
