RECIPE 👇👇👇Make this shredded beef for Taco Tuesday, or anytime! It's a great multi-purpose recipe that you can employ in a variety of ways when you meal prep.⁣

Ingredients⁣
3-4 pound grassfed beef roast (bone in or boneless)⁣
1 teaspoon salt⁣
1 medium onion, sliced thinly⁣
6 garlic cloves, peeled⁣
½ cup water or bone broth⁣
⁣
Instructions⁣
1. Season roast with salt and place in Instant Pot. Lay sliced onions and garlic on top of roast. Pour in water or bone broth.⁣
2. Seal lid and cook for 90 minutes under high pressure.⁣
3. Allow pressure to release naturally for 30 minutes, then open valve to release any remaining pressure manually.⁣
4. Remove roast from pot and place in a large bowl or casserole dish for easier shredding. Allow to cool slightly so that it is easier to handle, then use two forks or your clean hands to shred the meat. The onions and garlic will be very soft and can smashed and dispersed throughout the shredded meat with your hands.⁣
5. Reserve about ¼ cup of the broth to mix back into the shredded meat. The rest can be saved for another use, or consumed as a delicious sipping broth.

Do you pick your petals? I don’t like to grow anything I can’t use aka just grow it because it’s pretty. But with Rugosa it’s pretty, smells so good, attracts bees, AND you can use the petals and hips for food🎉 win all around. These will most likely become tea or part of a bath soap.

@practicalpaleo_official Soft Chocolate Coconut Cookies

Ingredients:
-2 large eggs (or flax eggs)
-2 tablespoons of ghee
-2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup (I used @coconutsecretofficial Coconut Nectar)
-1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
-1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
-2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
-1/4 cup of sliced almonds (I finely chopped some unsalted mixed nuts that I had)
-raspberries for topping (I would add 1/2 cup into the batter and then top with them as well to add some more sweetness)
-pinch of baking soda

Directions:
-Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and preheat oven to 350.
-Whisk eggs, melted butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract together.
-Mix in coconut, cocoa powder, and baking soda
- Fold in the almonds (or mixed nuts) and raspberries if desired
-Put dough in refrigerator for 10 minutes to firm up
- Form 12 (I was only able to get 10) equal sized balls and put them on the cookie sheet. Smooth out cookies with the back of a spoon.
-Add raspberries to center of cookies
-Bake for 20-30 minutes (I recommend 20-25)

🌱CARROT TOP PESTO(nut-free)🌱
This is such an easy pesto to make and I love that I am using a #nowaste method. At the stores they often ask if I want my tops removed 🙅🏻‍♀️ I’m buying them just for the tops. Where do I sign up to collect the tops people throw away 🙋🏻‍♀️ but I digress
1 cup packed, destemmed tops
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup of water (or less) depends on consistency 
Salt, pepper
2 heaping tablespoons of minced garlic
Blend in a food processor or blender and voila. It is to DIE for and even my 9 month old loves it 🤤

These are an oldie, but a goodie! I don’t eat potatoes - not because I don’t like them or because I don’t think they’re Paleo. I love them, and I am in the yes paleo camp, but unfortunately I just don’t digest them well. White potatoes are non-starter and sweet potatoes are only ok every once in a while in small amounts. Soooo…when the craving for fries hits, plantains are my jam. These ones are great too because they’re oven baked and so easy. I bet you could air fry them too…just haven’t tried it. ⁣

Ingredients⁣
* 2 green plantains⁣
* 2 tbsp coconut or avocado oil⁣
* sea salt to taste⁣
⁣
Instructions⁣
1. Start by scoring your plantain peels lengthwise with a knife, and then remove the peels. Cut your plantains in half, and then cut the halves in half again so you end up with four half cylinders. Slice them into thin strips like fries.⁣
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and once it is hot, add your coconut or avocado oil to the pan.⁣
3. Place your plantain strips into the skillet, and season with salt. After a few minutes, flip the strips over and season with salt again. Add more oil if necessary as you go. You want the fries to get a little brown and crispy on both sides.⁣
4. Once your fries have reached your desired level of crispy perfection, remove the fries from the heat and place them on a paper towel lined plate to absorb any excess oil.⁣
5. Enjoy! Dip these babies in your favorite sauces, and pair these Paleo plantain fries with all your favorite proteins!⁣

I just updated my Mango Kombucha recipe over at bonaippetit.com. This recipe has just the right amount of sweetness to pair with the drink's natural tang. The secret to my kombucha is that I use honey instead of refined sugar. I also have  great technique for flavoring plain kombucha so that you don't have sediment at the bottom of your bottles. Just pure liquid gold!

Made cherry chia seed pudding for my pre-workout meal/breakfast!🤗😍🍒

To make the pudding (recipe from @thedormfooddiaries ): put a 1/4 cup of chia seeds, a cup of almond milk, and a 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract into a covered container or bowl. Chop up some cherries and throw those in too. Mix it all up. Let it sit in the fridge overnight and it will become thick and amazing! (If u want it sweeter, put a little maple syrup in the mixture)

I would not recommend Storm’s way of napping. He’s a narcoleptic. He can begin stretching and forget to go back to normal before he stops, as on the image. And he does it throughout the day. 
I prefer 20-30 mins in the afternoon, or any time when my energy is low.

Being ultra nerdy this morning and listening to a podcast about supplements ☺️

Nutritional therapy has recently become very interesting to me and I love learning more. Through my stomach issues years ago and even more so when we started trying to get pregnant, I became very aware what I was putting into my body. I really tried not to take pain relievers unless I absolutely had to (mainly for headaches). I used to get headaches pretty frequently and I knew if I didn’t take something for it, it would turn into a migraine and I would get nauseous and my day would be done. As I’m writing this, I realized that it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten a headache! Also with food, I try to eat more paleo and less processed; I still eat processed bc it’s really hard not to, but I try to eat MORE natural foods. ———————————————————
I’ve never really been interested in supplements but after doing some research and learning from @emilyschromm, they may be the answer to some things I’ve just figured I’d have to deal with forever. Just starting out, but I’ll share as I learn!

today i wanted to talk about getting more 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬 and fiber! greens are super important for your health, digestion, and just... quality of life! a lot of people right now are fans of the “carnivore” movement, but in my opinion that is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 healthy. greens taste amazing and have so many beneficial micro nutrients. ⁣

1. greens like lettuce actually don’t have much fiber. this makes them good if you need to follow a low fiber diet but also means that they don’t have many of the benefits greens have. cruciferous veggies are where it’s AT. things like kale, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and all those hearty greens are the best to keep you full and keep 💩 moving. ⁣

2. if you think you don’t like veggies- i have to say your wrong! you CAN like veggies. one way is by incorporating things like frozen cauliflower, zucchini, and spinach in your smoothies. you can even sneak cauliflower into waffles (just posted this recipe on my feed!) also, make sure to always cook your veg in some high quality oil, and add salt and seasoning!! fat isn’t bad and oil isn’t bad in moderation. you can also dress up veg with a good sauce. ⁣

Woke up this morning, thought it was the weekend and took my time making this summer smoothie bowl. Realized 2 bites into the bowl that it’s Tuesday and I was about to be running late for work 🙃 so on that note, happy Tuesday, patiently waiting for the weekend 😆

Paleo banana pancakes with allllllll the toppings 🙈 used @birchbenders banana paleo mix and added coconut milk instead of water, cinnamon and a scoop of @ancientnutrition vanilla multi collagen protein powder! Happy Tuesday friends!☀️

Was up later than usual after watching the bachelorette with some friends last night (that Luke P. drama though🙄). Revived myself with this bowl! I don’t usually make smoothie bowls but we had some frozen dragonfruit in my freezer and thus this vibrant bowl was made!🤩 Anyways, I have a physical therapy appt. today and am hoping to set a plan for the rest of the summer to get some more (or at least keep) my mobility in my joints💃🏼 You know the saying, “move it or lose it”? Well that is SO true for me and my Rheumatoid Arthritis. The more I don’t move my joints, the stiffer and more degeneration happens in them, AKA those joints become permanently bent and start looking and feeling like that of an old woman😬 Definitely can be hard to always have this in the back of my mind but the only thing I can do is try my best to be proactive about it! Afterwards, I might just have to fuel my coffee addiction some more🤪 Hoping everyone’s Tuesday is fab!💛

This sweet and spicy honey chipotle salmon, roasted cinnamon sweet potatoes and broccolini is what I wish i had packed for lunch today🤤😍 To make the salmon: preheat oven to 450°F, season with chipotle, garlic, salt and pepper. Then drizzle honey on top and bake for 12 minutes. For the sweet potatoes: season with salt and cinnamon and bake at 400°F for 25-30 min. For the broccolini, bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. HAPPY TUESDAY💛

I was skeptical of trying another product with baking soda in it, but I haven't experienced any peeling, discoloration, or tenderness in the nearly 2 weeks I've been using it. I use the deo in combination with the pit spritz. I use the spray in the morning post shower and again before going to bed. Only one day out of the last 2 weeks did I have to reapply during the day. Overall, it's surprisingly effective. I don't love that it comes in a jar, but that has no effect on the performance - 5 stars from me!" ⠀

Yikes! 😅 It’s been a while since I posted a good food pic/ recipe on here. But I’m really excited about being back in the kitchen cooking up some of my favourite dishes. ⁣

This meal is hands down one of the ultimates from the many classic Italian dishes my Nonna makes. Bonus: this asparagus pasta is simple to make and I’m super excited to share it! ⁣
⁣
Here’s what ya need:⁣
* 1 large bundle of asparagus ⁣
* 1 onion ⁣
* Linguine rice pasta ⁣
* Olive oil ⁣
* Avocado oil ⁣
* Pink Himalayan salt ⁣
⁣
How you make the pashti: 🍝⁣
* Separate stems from the heads of the asparagus. Keep heads for later. ⁣
* Add stems to a large pot of boiling water. ⁣
* Chop up 1 onion and sauté in pan with avocado oil. ⁣
* Once stems are cooked, use a slotted spook to remove and add to a blender. Drizzle in some olive oil (free hand that sh*t) and blend on low until smooth. ⁣
* Add the asparagus purée to the pan with onions and stir. Add some of the leftover boiling water to the pan to make a creamier sauce (about 1 cup) ⁣and sprinkle in some Himalayan salt to taste. * Add asparagus heads to the pan and cover (cook on low heat)⁣
* Using the remaining boiled water, cook pasta (add more water if needed)⁣
* Once pasta is cooked, drain and add to pan ⁣
* Mix in pasta with asparagus sauce and serve immediately

Whole 30 Day 8 ✅.

I seriously can’t believe I’m 9 days in to Whole 30 already. I don’t want to jinx myself, but I feel like it’s been much easier than I expected it to be.
.
I really think going from keto to Whole 30 isn’t that big of a transition and that really helped prepare me mentally.
.
✖️ breakfast was the potato, egg, and sausage scramble
✖️ same iced coffee I’ve had every day
✖️ lunch was pulled pork with coleslaw, and pineapple salsa
✖️ dinner was a baked potato with @daksspices Taco Knight seasoned ground beef, salsa, lettuce, tomato, red and green onion, @yellowbirdsauce sriracha, and @tessemaes avocado ranch.

With appropriate substitutes for AIP & Vegans these pancakes will make your weekend breakfast absolutely epic! These pancakes have a soft, moist and a thick texture and hold perfectly well.
