When our kids are angry, melting down, having a fit or losing their temper, remember this ... It is RARELY about what it's about (or what it seems to be about). Anger often has deep roots that run far below the surface.
We must be willing to do the work of unearthing the underlying emotions if we want to truly deal with the anger.
Pain, fear, sadness, disappointment, embarrassment, shame... All of these will be masked by anger but make no mistake, this is where the big feelings (and the triggers) lie.
