Utthan Pristhasana or the Lizard Pose.
Lizard pose can be an intense hip opener and can create some intense sensations and stretch. It's a great way to practice steady and full breathing and being present in the body, allowing the pose to slowly do its work.
1. Improves flexibility of hips.
2. Reduces negative feelings including stress and tension.
3. Makes legs muscles stronger.
4. Makes the hips and hamstring open or balances arms.
5. Prepares deeper stretches.
6. Actives reproductive system.
7. Decreases excess fat around belly and hips.
8. Keeps the core in mind balance.
Honestly, the very fact that I'm doing something with the word "lizard" in it is a very big deal, I have battled a fear of this particular creature for the longest time.
The previous night I saw two huge ones in the campsite loo, after I finished peeing, almost right above the seat. For me, a few months ago all hell would've broken loose and I would've shifted countries. But I made the switch and decided not to let it affect me anymore, and take away it's power, my attention.
Had I known they were hanging there I wouldn't have pee'ed in peace (or in the first place).
I learnt a lesson, ignorance is really bliss. What you don't know, you don't want to know.
Ultimately we were just 3 souls hanging out. Swipe right, they let me click them too. Hands were shaking but I did. I promise you objects were larger than they appear.
Peace out. Not accepting any gaalis for putting up their pictures. Thank you ✌️ Also, tried the pose for the first time, it's a work in progress.
