If we consume more energy (calories ) than we burn throughout the day over time the body will have an abundance it wants to save for later in case of emergency, hence it will store that energy into a storage unit to grab for later(body fat). Unless you have a serious hormonal issue or medical problem that needs to be addressed, you are simple eating too much, and maybe you are not exercising enough or moving enough through the week. It is much easier to eat less calories than it is to eat more calories and try to burn it all off with training 6-7 days a week burning yourself out.

AUTOREGULATING TRAINING ⁣
⁣
Today was scheduled to be a lower body day for me but I decided to change my session for a few reasons; ⁣
⁣
5 hours sleep. ⁣
Feeling fatigued. ⁣
Motivation not there. ⁣
Recovery is not 100%. ⁣
Had a long day driving yesterday. ⁣
⁣
I still want to train so i opted to make this session more of a recovery focused session. ⁣
⁣
Here's a few of the changes I made; ⁣
⁣
Leg Day switched to a full body session. ⁣
⁣
All intensity techniques dropped. (failure sets, dropsets etc) ⁣
⁣
Exercise selection switched to favour exercises that won't cause too much overall systemic fatigue. ⁣
⁣
Tempo of lifts increased (not as slow) to avoid spending too much time in the eccentric portion of the lift & lengthened ranges where a lot of muscle damage can occur. ⁣
⁣
RPE on lifts kept lower to avoid going to failure & keep total fatigue lower. Keeping a couple of solid reps in the tank on all sets. ⁣
⁣
Rest times shortened so I won't need to use as much load on each exercise & shortens the total time of the session. ⁣
⁣
By doing all this, it will allow me to still get a workout in without beating myself up even more. ⁣
⁣
Which will allow me to train harder again sooner compared to if I just tried to grind out a long, gruelling session. I would dig the recovery hole deeper instead of climbing out of it. ⁣
⁣
What I've taken for granted is that I done all the above off the top of my head. Through experience & knowledge, I can make these adjustments on the fly. ⁣
⁣
For most, they wouldn't know when/why/how to do this. ⁣
⁣
People often just following a plan religiously without ever taking on board the signals your body is giving you. ⁣
⁣
Factors outside the gym (sleep, stress, diet, hydration etc) will have a big impact on what goes on inside the gym! ⁣
⁣
As you get more advanced in the gym, starting to understand this stuff can really help you with long term progress IMO. ⁣
⁣

Certainly not my most technical pull lol I was allll over the The place but for being completely unprepared, on about 4 hours of sleep, no carbs, the day after doing heavy sled pulls and with chucks on and still able to pull an 18,000lb. Glute Bridge vs Hip Thrust?

Personally, I will always favour the hip thrust as a superior movement to the glute bridge. •
Looking at these two videos, can you see why? •

The hip thrust provides a greater range of motion - elevating the shoulders creating a unique angle that maximises glute activation. And works on developing the hip hinge motion - which FYI will benefit your deadlift. (Just avoid eye contact with others while performing it, trust me, I've been there)

1️⃣BB SEATED PRESSES FOLLOWED BY BB FRONT RAISES:
Bring the bar all the way down to the clavicle part of the pectoralis major and press back keeping he lumbar spin portion on the bench at all time.
2️⃣BB STANDING LATERAL 
keeping the spine neutral bring your elbows all the way out making sure when pressing you go down past the shoulder level and then press all the way back up executing a perfect rep
3️⃣BB READ DELT RAISE FOLLOWED BY FAVE PULLS
Keeping the chest up execute the rep in a push pull motion where You are pushing the barbell back with your forearms than using the posterior deltoid and elbows to pull the bar up contracting in the muscle to its full capacity.
