IS YOGA FOR YOU THE JOURNEY OR THE DESTINATION?
Have you ever paid attention to what happens in your mind when you look at a photo or video of a yoga practitioner demonstrating a “perfect” pose?
Do you ever get wrapped up in the desire to achieve what others have achieved before you?
If you do it’s ok, that happens to most of us, but we need to understand that when our mind is preoccupied with such a goal, our yoga practice can only suffer.
Instead of striving to attain a perfect pose, we should let our practice be a way observe and accept our current state.
By switching perspective from a hypothetical future situation (which is striking the perfect pose) to our current, real situation, we can begin to notice the perfection of the path. If we pay more attention to our attachments and aversions they would dissolve. Only then, we could fully embrace where we are right here, right now.
Yoga is nothing else than about coming back to yourself in a nonjudgmental way. Yoga is a journey, the destination IS the journey! - 19 minutes ago
