Powerhouse show! Then again, it’s based on a powerhouse warrior. Omg, I cried. More than once.
Tfw you’re watching an empowering, enlightening play about an icon’s life that encompassed a vibrant history lesson covering the women’s movement which included leaders—many important women of color who were omitted from reporters’ stories at the time—and yup, she arrived to moderate Act Two!
What a treat it was to see Ms. Gloria Steinem and chat with her briefly after the show! (I’ve had the honor of interviewing her four times; two of which were for New York magazine, the same pub she wrote for and also launched Ms. magazine—it was first printed as a supplement to New York mag. By association, we’re practically sisters, yes?) One main take-away: Aim to do one “outrageous” thing daily. Talk to each other, no screens, among circles. For starters, talk about your salary with friends! Know your worth. And pursue it.
The play runs through Jan 27, 2019. Christine Lahti is amazing as Steinem and the cast was awesome. #newyorkcity #whatwouldgloriado #gloriasteinem #christinelahti #equality #gloria #rights #equalpay #nyc #manhattan #newyork #pioneer #msmagazine #offbroadway #legend #icon #feminist #feminism #era #gloriatheplay #talkingcircle #hope “Women are linked, not ranked.” ️ - 16 hours ago
