Sometimes I wish we didn't get used to things so quickly.
I wish the things that are new and exciting didn't suddenly become mundane
I wish we wouldn't forget the present as soon as the future arrived.
See, once we take our situation, our people, our love for granted
We lose our awe
And we turn our heads to search for the next thing.
Wouldn't it be wonderful
If new love never got tired?
If a new home never grew cobwebs?
If new toys never got dusty?
If the people in our lives never lost their sparkle?
If waking up in the morning in a cosy bed with running hot water never failed to be a miracle?
The only way we can remember the beauty in what we already have
Is to constantly examine those things
From a place of gratitude
Because once we open our eyes to all the blessings
That flow into our hands
Day by day
We learn to love the simple life
All over again. - 10 hours ago
