امروزه در علم ورزش و سلامت ،تمام توجه به سبک زندگی افراد است.
اما منظور از سبک زندگی چیست؟
همانطور که آلن سوبل گفت:شیوه زندگی کردن
🔵چه ساعتی از خواب برمی‌خیزیم؟
🔵صبحانه چه چیزی و چه زمانی می‌خوریم؟
🔵چه فعالیت هایی در طول روز انجام می دهیم؟
🔵آیا در این میان به سوخت رسانی بدن توجه می کنیم؟
🔵آیا شغل و فعالیت هایی که در طول روز انجام می دهیم به ما آسیب می‌زند؟
🔵آیا ورزش می کنیم؟
🔵شام چطور؟چه چیزی و چه زمانی؟

I was having a serious craving for an Italian sandwich today, with a meatball sub sounding amazing. Rather than get some takeaway, I opted for homemade turkey meatballs and managed to use up some 80 calorie hot dog rolls in the process.

The meatballs were tender and anything but dry. Seasoning is everything! Each 2.5 oz meatball was 120 calories with 14 grams of protein. I used one and a half per sandwich.

So here are my best tips
.
1. Pick your day and time and get in that kitchen with a plan & focus. Blast your favourite music and get to work!! 💃🕺 .

I pick 4-5 items from each meal group from our nutrition plan and make sure to add what I need to the grocery list. 🗒🛒

2. Get everything you need for each recipe/meal and gather them together 🥦🥕🥬🥒🍗🥚🍤🍓🍇🍊so that you have a visual of what you need to do (including tools, 🔪, peeler, pans, parchment paper etc.) *don’t forget to preheat your oven ....if need be
.
.
3. Start with the recipe that takes the longest and work your way to the easiest/shortest amount of time
.
.
4. Cook in batches, kinda like buffet style. It’s the best way to allow for variety throughout the week. You can mix & match to your ❤️’s content. .
.
Once cooked, put in clear containers in the fridge. If you can see it 👀, you will eat it👄!
.
.
5. Wash & cut your fruit & veggies, put them in clear containers so they’re ready to go .
.
6. Keep it simple! You’ll build a better relationship with food and will enjoy the process so much more!

I’m really interested in the subject of fat loss, however to be completely honest I find it hard to post about because I don’t want people to think that all I care about is how you LOOK - because that’s so far from the truth! Your weight is simply just a number on the scale and doesn’t always reflect our physical, mental, and spiritual health, but let's face it - having too much fat on our body is not good for our health! Besides the fact that it can put us at risk for a wide range of diseases and conditions, it just doesn’t. feel. good. To me, “fat loss” symbolizes taking back your power by making positive, conscious decisions that allow you to feel your best, and therefore show up as your best self for you and the people around you! That being said, I’m going to be posting more about this subject throughout the month 🥰

O que é melatonina?

A melatonina (N-acetil-5-metoxitriptamina) é um hormônio secretado pela glândula pineal no cérebro. Sua produção é estimulada pela escuridão e suprimida pela luz.

O principal papel da melatonina é manter o ritmo circadiano do seu corpo, ou seja, ela regula o nosso ciclo sono-vigília. Esse nosso relógio interno desempenha um papel crítico na homeostase do nosso organismo e suas ações vão muito além do sono, como já demonstrado em diversos estudos sobre a melatonina e o sistema imunológico por exemplo.

A melatonina é produzida a partir da serotonina, um neurotransmissor derivado do triptofano. Dentro da pineal, a serotonina é convertida em melatonina.

A glândula pineal geralmente começa a produzir melatonina por volta das 9h, aumentando seus níveis progressivamente. Se o seu corpo estiver funcionando como deveria, seu nível de melatonina permanece elevado enquanto você dorme, durante um total de aproximadamente 10 a 12 horas. 
Um fator impactante na produção de melatonina é o espectro de luz azul, que é usada nas telas de celulares, TVs e computadores. Essa faixa de luz confunde nosso cérebro, que passa a identificar como luz do sol e por conseguinte limitando a produção da melatonina.

Uma outra característica identificada em estudos é que conforme envelhecemos a quantidade produzida de melatonina é reduzida, o que talvez explique porque pessoas mais velhas tem mais dificuldades em dormir do que os mais jovens.

The belt squat machine is the newest fitness toy at SLCCF! I’ve done belt squats plenty of times and really like them. It took me a few sets to settle in and feel normal with my squat which was weird for me!

Do you freeze fruits and veggies?? My freezer is full of all kind of fruits and vegetables because I have a sweet tooth 🤷‍♀️so I can make smoothies and ice creams. 🍦
This recipe 👉👉👉1 C.  frozen blueberry + 1 C. frozen strawberries + lemon juice (not a lot) + monk fruit or any sweetener (optional). Mix everything in a high speed blender @vitamix
Serve and top with unsweetened  coconut flakes or use your favorite toppings!! Enjoy!! 🍨

✨New credential, new Instagram handle!
Hi, my name is Parker, Registered Dietitian! 👋🏻 I thought I’d take some time to tell y’all 5 facts about myself since people may be wondering where I went on Instagram 😂
🔹🔹🔹🔹 1. I became a Registered Dietitian (RD) on Monday after a long journey of 6+ years (A dream since 8th grade)!! 🍎 I’m currently still in school finishing up my MS!
2. I love all things running and have run 4 full marathons and 20 half-marathons! 🏃🏻‍♀️
3. My past sports injuries and relationship with food are what lead me to being a RD. I truly believe that our struggles lead us to our destinations. 
4. I have a huge sweet tooth, with my favorite guilty pleasure being carrot cake!🥕 🍰 
5. I’m on a mission to get sports RD’s in schools to decrease prevalence of disordered eating among athletes. It’s time to be preventative about mental health! 👏🏼

baby munchkin stacks and a failed live-action-asmr-slice for your wednesday morning ☀️✨scroll for details below but FIRST... a confession: this serving was not enough for me. i was still hungry despite my efforts to smother the pancakes with as many toppings as possible (but holding off on the syrup... 🤔). so i drank a bunch of water and tried not to think about the gentle hunger i still possessed. it was slight, but not negligible. i didn’t feel satisfied just yet.

but i refused to listen! why? because according to the nutrition facts on the box, i ate a proper serving size. i told myself i was at the state of being neither hungry nor full. i told myself because i was eating “intuitively” i was not relapsing on my restrictive habits.

it was only after looking at these pictures a few days afterwards, realizing how sad and small and puny the pancakes were just sitting on this huge plate, that i remembered nutrition facts and serving sizes do not dictate my needs. everybody who purchases this box of mix sees these nutrition facts, and it’d be ridiculous for this serving to be applicable to everybody. as a lanky, underweight 5’5 girl who was (gradually!) going back to the gym, i needed more than 1/2 a cup of pancake mix to fulfill me. i was long inundated with a set amount of carbs i was “allowed” to have for each meal, and i’m still learning that the world will go on turning even if i pass those unrealistically low, imaginary limits... aka properly nourishing myself

who knows how much i really need? maybe i need a full cup of the mix or 3/4 cup or even just 14/27 cup to be satisfied. but mark my words fellas, in a few posts i will have another stack of pancakes for redemption. this time every flapjack will be great and voluptuous and sopping with maple syrup and i will be happy and full.

1/3 cup water + 1 egg + 2 tbsp greek yogurt + 1/2 cup of @kodiakcakes buttermilk pancake mix + 1/2 tsp baking powder + frozen bloobs cooked on a pan with @chosenfoods avocado oil. topped with almond butter, whole milk @chobani, homemade blood orange chia marmalade, seeds, and not enough maple syrup 🥞
