My heart breaks for her, her family and her province. They all deserve better. Say what you want about healthcare in other provinces, across Canada. But I am here because of our system in Ontario and I am grateful for that.
I hope her premier meets with her. And I hope... Doug Ford is out in Ontario asap, or we will be next.
I am 6 years Cancer free from ThyCa and I am on the radar for the same thing as this woman... they have caught it at the polyp stage. Which is exactly where they should have caught hers.
Wake up and push back!
We must be our own best advocates and advocate for all of those around us. We must force our healthcare system and our politicians to do better and be better for us and for our families in all aspects of healthcare from cancer care, mental health and everything inbetween.
Cancer is so much more than radiation and chemo. It is as much mentally debilitating as any other chronic, life changing/threatening disease. It breaks my heart that she cannot get mental healthcare until July! I know what she is feeling. I get it. Do you?
Do you really?
One day you will. One day it will be you or someone you love.
Cancer and mental illness has no face until it is your own.
Wake up before it's your turn and force our country and all provinces and politicians to do better!
