#TUESDAYTalks w/ Carla D……It’s Time To Let Go!!!! It’s time to let go of anything that is not feeding you. There are many ways you can be feed other than food to your stomach.  In this post I am talking about things that feed you Spiritually, Physically and Mentally.  Each day you are feed through relationships, your jobs, what you read, what you watch on tv, social media, movies, music and physical movement.  No one forces you to do any of these things. They all require you to make a choice, unless of course you are a parent with a kid. Then, I understand that you sometimes have no choice but to watch #Frozen and listen to #BabyShark DoDooDoo over and over again….you get a pass. 
However, for everyone else including me, we need to check ourselves.  If we expect our lives to spring forward like time, we have some work to do!!! We always talk about spring cleaning the house….Well in 2019 we need to spring clean our lives!!!! Let go of old outdated beliefs and learn something new. Renew your mind by changing the negative things you watch and listen to. Heal and guard your heart by forgiving people that have proven they are not capable or able to handle it with care. If you always have to have control, let someone else take charge. If you always stay quiet, speak up for a change. 
I could go on and on but I am sure you get the point. The moral of the story is get up and get out of your old habits that have you going in circles.  Imagine, your current life represents a car and you are the driver. If you want to stop going in circles or to change directions you, You, YOU…have to turn the wheel. NO One can do it for you. This day choose Life and choose to Live It On Purpose. 
I know its not always easy and I also know that it is not impossible if you take it moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day and eventually you will get to week by week and so on. Last week was definitely not my best. Had family in town and it threw everything off. Had pizza, sushi, brownies, it was horrible. And I definitely wanted to eat more than I did. 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is me on a regular basis😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂. People usually have good intentions when it comes to food choices but it can take a split second to veer off the road and speed off on the highway to hell, gorging on food glorious food and eventually crashing and burning.

The worst thing you can do when this happens is to allow yourself to feel guilty. Guilt can make you want to quit. Just pick yourself up,  dust yourself off and start again. If you all knew how many times I've done that,  you'd be hugely surprised.  It happens VERY regularly. One thing is for sure though - I'LL NEVER QUIT!!!

To succeed we must have a plan and eliminate any triggers. If you have habits for reaching for certain foods we know are not going to help us reach our health goal, then it is best to remove them and replace them with whole foods that will. Our two refrigerators and counter tops are filled with fresh, whole produce that are easy to grab or prepare. No cooking. Just grab and go or chop, blend, dice, etc. and enjoy.

So, let’s say you have a coffee at noon... it’s very likely that you’ll still have caffeine in your system at midnight! Think about at what time you want to go to sleep, and make the decision based on this knowledge that you now know of when you should be drinking your last cup of coffee (or caffeinated tea). Chocolate is not as strong... but also take it into account 🍫 I’ve noticed for me that if I eat chocolate later in the day I can have difficulty going to bed on time. Mal plays futsal for Tasmania, his sister Ellie loves gymnastics and sister Mia plays netball. Yes kids have tight muscles too and need to learn how to stretch without pushing. .

This is me. A number of years ago now; Taking a drive, near Galway (Ireland), we stumbled upon the MOST stunning beach and sunset, my boyfriend and I... a dog from a sole house, high on a hill, came down to join us. I remember thinking, what an amazing house that would be as a holiday home. What an escape.

That day, my soul couldn’t help but exhale, peace and gratitude pouring into my chaotic mind. It was perfect. And no alcohol was involved, so the memories remain VIVID.

I think, sometimes, we do lose our way, in life. Even if it’s a perfectly SUPER life, full of loved people and achieved life-goals...There’s just SO many things competing for our attention, we don’t have a chance to take a breath to CHOOSE our in-the-moment words and actions, to match long-term desires for wholesomeness and peace... instead catapulted from one knee-jerk REACTION, to another, and losing ourselves as a priority, in the midst.

For some reason the Tom Walker song ‘Leave a Light On’, resonates...Urging me that it’s  time to be brave and step forward, to find a better way, putting to bed short term ‘fixes’. The only drug I’ve used is alcohol, but there’s been relatable times when an overwhelming desire to find a darker space to hide, described in that song...the sweet relief of disappearing, has totally overwhelmed me.

Today I feel SO MUCH BETTER. I feel like I’ve been guided to that house on the hill. And now, I’m ready to be stronger. To build actions and routines for the best version of me, in a life without a ceiling.

I didn’t always care for raw veggies, but I am learning to love them. Hummus is helping to make the transition, but if I can muster through lunch without it, I can cut another 8 carbs. 🔶 Arroz integral con verduras y ensalada.

- Cocer arroz integral (dejarlo un poco durito) y reservar.
- En un sartén saltear: ajito picado, 1 cebolla, calabacín (yo he puesto 2 porque eran mas bien pequeñines), zanahoria, guisantes y judías verdes.
- Una vez que este la verdura lista añadir el arroz y saltear todo junto (yo he puesto sal, pimienta negra, perejil y pimienta cayena).
- La ensalada: rúcula con aderezo francés, sin más. .
Que tengáis muy buenas noches y soñeis bonito ☄💜.

- Boiled brown rice (not very soft) and preserve.
- In pan: stir-fry garlic, 1 onion, courgettes (I put 2 little ones), carrots, peas and green beans (I added salt, black pepper, parsley and cayenne).
- once the veggies are ready andd the rice and stir-fry a little bit all together.
- Salad: rocket and french dressing (easy pissy).

Finally went to the gym, by myself, and lifted heavy as I could.  Arm day (bicep/triceps/back/chest). Listened to my tunes and I cannot believe how much I enjoyed the solitude. I got a little vulnerable in my stories today 😬 Such a great way to start out spring break 🙄 I feel like my wheels are spinning but I’m not going anywhere, I feel like I’m stuck and don’t know how to get my brain unstuck, I feel like I’m not doing the things I love and I feel like I’m not accomplishing my goals. All of this has forced me to really evaluate my habits, my thoughts, my actions, yet I’m forced to learn to be patient, at peace and trust that God knows what he’s doing. I did feel better once I got all those thoughts out and in the open and I’m blessed to have friends reach out with book suggestions, encouraging words, ideas and love, it truly meant a lot to me!

Now that I’ve been forced to really double check my habits and mindset I’m going to start with some improvement with my everyday mood. I’ve heard of the “Great Day” protocol but I’ve yet to embrace it, so I decided that I need to commit to doing the “Great Day” oil protocol every single morning for 1 month. Each of these oils has a purpose and a place to apply to promote balance, uplift mood and emotional well being. This is just one tool that I will use and a new habit to incorporate everyday to help pull out the best version of me. And I know she’s in there!

I want to express that I didn’t share the things I shared for a big pity party, I shared with you all to express my own struggles, to ask for book suggestions, healthy habit tips, but most of all to let you know that if you’re going through a tough season, you’re not alone. ❤️ storms will come and sunny days will too.

Hey friends, May I have your attention for a minute!! I am here to just be real for a minute, which I always try to be... but like IT MATTERS the lifestyle we live, for so many reasons. 
But let try to keep this short! 
It is the simple fact that our bodies are a temple of the Lords. 
LOVE IT❤and treat it right!

That simple. 
I'm not okay with living my life, and knowing the products I am using, that my family are using.... are potentially harmful to us (but FACT they are harmful) .

I don't live my life saying well we are all going to die one day.. I mean yes that statement is true. But today I am still going to do my best, honor my body, teach my children to honor their bodies and with that.. we are honoring the Lord❤🙌 Making our home a chemical free home, didnt happen over night... and it doesnt need to happen over night.. but small steps in the right direction will eventually get you there!

Did you know that according to Forbes magazine 60% of college graduates can't find a job in their field...
And 70% of people hate their jobs!!! That is beyond concerning if you ask me.

In America in 2018 we had $1.52 trillion in student loan debt... if graduates can't find a job in their field what is the purpose of taking out a student loan and putting yourself in debt?

Americans spend on average 90,000 hours in their lifetime at work... shouldn't we all do something we love! And even better something that gives us a life of significance with time freedom?

FORREST YOGA TTC Day 4... Today’s practice was all about seeking the pleasure of the practice and poses rather than constantly gripping and ‘muscling through’ them. I’m rather good at the latter so having a slower practice to try and find a different perspective was most welcome. The elastic band balls might unwind yet. This afternoon we learned some more hands-on assists. I love these. They can make such a difference to someone’s experience of yoga and movement. We then had a teaching practice which I found difficult. I really can’t find my voice properly at the moment. I feel like my brain is saying one thing but it comes out in an entirely different way. Memories of many other Trainings (of all types) come back to haunt me... one thing I did notice is that when I feel low in confidence I apologise. A LOT. For the most trivial things too. And it doesn’t help build my confidence back up to do so either. Nice little vicious cycle there. We’re not ‘allowed’ to apologise at the yoga studio. We have to say ‘I’m sexy’ rather than ‘I’m sorry’. So if I come back telling you all that I’m sexy every 10 secs beware! On a serious note, it’s good to catch these little habits and re-work them into something else. We have a tendency to experience our lives through our vision and mind - our centre-point of consciousness.

Physically, this feels like it is just behind the eyes.

A really powerful yoga practice is to bring your focus down into your heart centre; not over your physical heart, but just in the centre of your chest - breastbone – sternum.

Heart Meditation

Take a few minutes in meditation.

Become aware of your feet if you are standing, or your sit bones if you are sitting.

Drop your awareness into your body and sense how you feel.

Pay attention to your thoughts, feelings and any sensations that ebb and flow through your body.

Just let them move, if possible without attachment, but, if you do feel attached - do so without judgment.  Just experience!

Then, slowly and gently bring awareness to the character, texture, length and quality of your breath.

Relax the jaw and facial muscles, let the breath move deeper and drop the sense of self from the head down into the heart centre.

Remain here for as long as it feels comfortable.

Go to the edge of your comfort zone and pause here.  Never force yourself to go further.

Extend your meditation comfort zone slowly, over time.

If thoughts wander or become too claustrophobic, re-focus upon your body and bring yourself back to the practice without pushing any feelings away, but neither becoming preoccupied with the stories.

Let them move through your consciousness, unhindered.

Finally, reconnect with your feet or sit bones, while being aware of your connection to the earth, and gently drop your chin slightly to the chest as you slowly open your eyes and realign with the light of the room or surroundings.

Do not rush out of the practice.  Integration is essential.

The transition from meditation to daily life is the key to integration.

Reflect for a few moments on how you now feel.

See if anything feels different?

What does the world feel like when the ‘centre of you’ is deep in your heart rather than in your head?

How does your body feel?

I'm totally re-thinking #NewYearsResolutions... Every year when January 1st hits, we are all in a frenzy to start #newhabits and make this year 'THE BEST YEAR EVER'! But is jumping into your #newgoals the best plan to actually ACHIEVE them?

I'm all about action. In fact, I often dive headfirst into things the minute I'm inspired. Its a good quality and a bad one. My lack of patience often gets me in a place where I am overwhelmed, trying to keep up with whatever project I have decided needs to start immediately. 
Sometimes I come out looking like a rockstar for being so 'on top of things' and sometimes I crash and burn. Hard.

What I am learning is that a moment of #reflection is SO VALUABLE if what you want is REAL CHANGE.
