Arches National Park is next on my celebration of National Park Week!
The first time I visited this np (and my first trip to Moab ever) was for my bachelorette party almost 2 years ago. It was a weekend full of hiking, drinking, camping, laughing, and included a brief run in with local authorities (nothing to write home about tho!) As soon as we rounded the bend at the top of the hill after the park entrance my jaw dropped, did we leave earth? There were giant red and orange pillars raising towards the sky. Rocks balancing on top of rocks that appeared as if they would be blown over in the wind. And of course the arches...an arch here, there and everywhere! Needless to say the landscape blew my mind.
I'd like to mention an obvious fact that this is a very touristy and crowded park on the weekends, but regardless I've been back twice after my bachelorette trip. I've enjoyed showing other first time visitors the park and watching their face light up with excitement. There are still plenty of places in Arches National Park where you'll find yourself alone on the trail, but don't expect it at Delicate Arch, Double Arch, or the others just a short stroll from the road!
