Yesterday was officially the last day of my 4-week DE challenge. Overall, I enjoyed the experiment and I’m glad to have done it! While 4 weeks is not a long enough time to realize all the benefits and claims of most skincare products, I did notice some minor improvements in my skin and just how it felt throughout the experiment. Keep in mind that skin cells, on average, take between 28-40 days to turn over, depending on our age, therefore it’s silly to expect miracles after a short amount of time. I have been using Drunk Elephant products for over a year and did come into the experiment with reasonable expectations. In other words, I didn’t expect to get flawless, pore-less, blindingly glowing skin after just 4 weeks!
Overall Result: While using DE products, my skin felt healthy, clean, hydrated, less congested and dewey most of the time. I did notice some brightening in my skin tone, which made me happy. However during the experiment, I found myself missing my other beloved products from other brands too much. I don’t think I would be able to commit to just one brand exclusively because I haven’t found a brand that excels in all categories of products... yet!
Now the big question, IS DRUNK ELEPHANT WORTH IT? While I would consider some of their products my HGs, I personally think there’s room for improvement for the others, especially their chemical exfoliants and sunscreens (personal opinions on the products in previous post if you haven’t read). I also wish they believe in skin types. My skin can tolerate most of their products but I can see how others’ may not. Overhyped? Personally over half of their products are overhyped for me, someone with dry, unproblematic skin. Overpriced? Most of them! I mean I will continue to starve myself to purchase the products my skin ABSOLUTELY LOVES, however for the ones in the “maybe” category, I would rather spend my money exploring other affordable options out there!
That’s a wrap for this series! Thanks for following
P.S accidentally spread retinol on my eyes so now they’re extra dry and wrinkly . But be honest and tell me if you see a difference in skin in the before and after photos - 0 seconds
