Top 5 things in my eczema care routine! The before pictures 🏼 are from during my steroid cream withdrawal. When I see “before” pictures of myself I remember believing that I’d have eczema for the rest of my life... I remember being so afraid that I would have extreme scarring under my eyes forever. BUT I don’t! I’m completely healed & so happy now! This journey, and eczema free skin was 100% worth the hard work!
So many of you have so many good questions about how I healed my eczema. 🤷🏼♀️ It’s really my entire personalized lifestyle, not just one or two magical things, that made my eczema go away for good! But right now I can share with you my top five must-do-everyday things to keep my skin glowing and eczema free.
1. DRINK WATER ALL DAY. It doesn’t matter how much moisturizer I put on, if I’m not hydrated from the inside my largest organ (my skin) will never be hydrated enough. So I drink a quart of lemon water every morning as soon as I wake up.
🥬2. I make sure that I eat fermented vegetables along with lots of fresh vegetables every single day! Our Fermented Kimchi is my go-to. I love our sauerkraut too, but if I have to be 100% honest I eat our kimchi at least twice a day. My favorite fresh veggies include: organic kale, organic zucchini, organic spinach, purple cabbage, onions, mushrooms (technically fungi but whatevs) and arugula. Fave plant proteins include: tempeh, black beans and chickpeas!
🛁 3. I do not bathe with soap every day. I wash all the can-be stinky parts with soap everyday, but I only wash the rest of my skin with soap about once a week. This is to give my skin microbiome the best chance of thriving.
🧴4. Keep it simple with the skincare. There’s a link in our bio about my skin care routine! It’s a long blog but I talk about all the things I did that helped heal my own skin. (Remember that everyone is different, and that this is my personal story and what worked for me.) 🏼
🏼5. Exercise! Whether it’s just a walk or an intense HITT workout I try to move my body every day for an hour. Sweat can even help balance and nourish your skin!
