I see way too many trainers trying to fit clients to their training approach and not changing their approach to fit their client needs and preferences. There is a limit in how much you or your client/athlete will grow if you just keep doing the same thing and never try different training methods. This also goes in to understanding periodization and where your client should be in their journey and also how and when you should be changing things up to keep them progressing.
There are way too many trainers with no rhyme or reason to what they’re doing with their clients. There are way too many people who show up to the gym with no plan what so ever, doing random things and wondering why they look the same every year and never make any progress.
Be open to learning different training methods. Be a sponge and take in as much information as you can because it will eventually help your training and training your clients. Try new things. Understand periodization and planning things out ahead of time to get the best out of your athletes and/or out of yourself. Know how to break through plateaus and not back pedal. Expand you proficiency, plan ahead and stop preventing your or your clients progress. - 6 hours ago
