Even though warm-ups are very simple,  most people either seem to do them wrong or skip it altogether. Warm-ups are important. They raise your body temperature, prevent injuries and help you work on your mobility. All in all, they are important. Do them right.

The way most people seem to warm up is to do 5-10mins of a brisk walk on a treadmill followed by static stretching. Even though the brisk walk helps increase body temperature the static stretching portion is counterproductive. They decrease performance.

A better way to stretch before your training session is to do dynamic stretches. Dynamic movements and stretches will increase your core temperature, heart rate and performance so you can skip the brisk walk altogether(most people have less time to spend in the gym anyway). _
The warm-up should be specific to the individual's need and specific to the session itself. If you have a lower body session then you want to be including lower body dynamic stretches to prime your body for the session. Warmup routines for person to person may vary due to this specificity. If you have ankle mobility or hip flexor issues then you should incorporate movements and stretches for them.  Also, the specificity of the lift itself matters. The best way to warm up for sets of squats is to do lighter squats.

This is a DIY Leg Workout. The main Leg muscle groups are the quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves.

The glutes are not listed by themselves here because they are targeted during deadlifts, squats, etc. If you want more glute development throw in hip thrusts!

Today (Holy Saturday) commemorates the day that Jesus lay in the tomb after his death at the cross. Though it happened a long time ago, it’s a sacrifice that will never be forgotten or overlooked. A true representation of love. 
Easter weekend is a good reminder to stop, breathe and really focus on the many things in our lives to be thankful for. 
I am thankful for the unconditional love and the fresh start I am always given because of Jesus.
I am thankful to have family, friends and furry friends who love me.
I’m thankful for the simple things I so often take for granted.. My health, the roof over my head, a comfy bed, food, job opportunities and income, clean water, fresh air! 
I have it so good and quite frankly I need to remind myself of this daily.

✅You gotta show up early to practice to run through a play that’s giving you trouble.

✅You gotta stay later to get more reps in, after your teammates have cleared out of the gym.

It applies in athletics and in literally every other aspect of life.

Take myself as an example.

It’s a Friday night at 9:30 and I’m sitting here recording a solo podcast and writing content.

I’ve been ~cutting~ for like two weeks now and pretty much consistently tracking my macros. I say “pretty much” bc I dont track on Saturdays and only slip up a teeeeny bit during the week but nothing serious. I could definitely clean things up a bit but I’m in no rush 🤪 this is for lyfeeeee so make sure you’re never restricting yourself 🌸

Wrist pain is common, especially during the bench press. One cause of this pain is poor hand and wrist posture. By holding the bar too high up in the hand, your wrist can bend during the bench press, causing pain and giving you a weaker benchpress.⁣
