Busy morning here, 2 amazing and different workouts done with two clients - all before 7:30am!
First up, Charlie ROCKING some kickboxing training (at 5am!!!). He wanted to learn kickboxing while using it to also help him get in better shape. Charlie is truly a natural, which is great - We’re progressing through the essentials/basics quickly. Today we stuck to the most basic of combos, the 1-2-3 and on occasion added the rear hook to it. We started on the bag, drilling between speed and power and tempo changes and then moved over to the mitts doing the same combo. Mitts can be a bit tricky but Charlie picked it up immediately. Looking forward to seeing him continue to progress!
Next up was Jenny who was hitting up her first full workout with me after her assessment. Currently We’re working on stabilization endurance. The idea here is to build up all her stabilizer muscles along with muscle endurance to prepare her for more harsher demands on her body not only in workouts, but in every day life. Stabilization endurance training prepares your body to help prevent falls, lessen your chance of twisting your ankle, knee or any other joint. We work on connecting the brain in a more direct way to all the little muscles to help you keep your body upright and working properly at all times. Jenny did AMAZING! These aren’t easy workouts - a lot of single leg balance work, unstable surfaces and a very slow tempo to increase muscle endurance and recruitment. She too is a natural with a strong core and excellent balance! She is going to do so well with progressing through all the stages of my training - I am so excited to see how she advances!
I really feel so lucky and fortunate that I get to do this. I get to help people better themselves, challenge themselves and help them conquer goals while creating new ones that they’re going to conquer!
