A friend recently recommended a book, The Hidden Life of Trees, the author, a German Forestry Scientist discusses how trees communicate by using smells and signals, can taste, feed dying trees, how they see and count number of warm days before blooming, Although they may appear simple, their complex attributes personify many traits, they even feel pay and build complex communities. Hearing about trees, I can only wonder about the sentience of other creatures and entities such as reefs, lakes, rivers, and of course forests. Would we treat them if we knew they could think and feel. To finish, I'd like to quote the 2012 Lorax movie, "But nobody cares about trees anymore" "Then make them care."
