Wanted to talk today about the freedom of movement. It may be difficult to truly appreciate freedom unless you are not free, and while so many of us are free to work and live and make the choices we do every day - Many of us are not free when it comes to movement and our bodies. The freedom of movement. Age is a relevant thing, its the quality of our lives that matters most. And lets face it, too many of our friends and people we know, and maybe even you yourself can’t move without pain in your 20's, 30's and 40's. And guys - that just isn't normal!

'Cardio' is great but a true fat loss programme (accompanied by a calorie deficit of course and adequate, regular  protein) will always incorporate resistance exercises. A treadmill walk in the morning will help burn fat but also slow down fat burning for the rest of the day. You have to learn to use tools available to you and more importantly. Move!

Did a bunch of upperbody stuff today, and did a lot of this stuff for core integration and mobility. Do you have shoulder issues? Do you try to retract your scaps at all times to compensate? Are you creating a lot of unneeded tension by trying to stabilize your ribcage with your scaps?  Here’s a secret, properly integrating #abs and #obliques to stabilize and orientate your ribcage in multiple planes will allow your scaps to release tension and move freely. The goal on all of these movements was retracting and depressing my ribcage throughout the entire respective ROM’s. Try them out and see how they feel! 
1. Don’t have a name for these but they give you all the feels. Tons of serratus, pec, rectus, obliques, and adductors. 
2. KB lateral drags- keep still! Anti- rotation, anti-flexion.
3. Leg raises with a reach- #ABcity 
4. KB Halos- half-kneeling stance, stay tight. Allow #glutes and hamstrings to stabilize the pelvis with the upperbody does the dynamic work. 
Tag someone who needs some shoulder stabilization!

Love them or hate them mobility drills are a must to help reset the body from the constant stresses and strains of training and every day living 😀😀😀😀 Today we put crossfit athlete @dave.e3633 through a few drills and the results were cramptastic 😂😂😂😂 "Today Dave were going to do a roll over"

Fast forward 1 minute and we have the video footage for this post. 
No there wasn't a #sniper hiding in the gym that caused Dave to roll around it was the instant abdominal cramp that started as soon as Dave tried a roll over 😀😀😀 Mobility should not be neglected and should not be practiced only if you have a niggle or injury. If you run a mobility drill everytime you train the chances are you will avoid niggles and injuries. In Dave's case cramp is cramp and if its gonna attack its gonna attack however the more roll overs Dave performs the less likely he will cramp in this position. 💪💪💪 #apexabilitygym #teamaag #gym #mobility #iflows #movemore #movementismedicine #pilates

Building better #hipmobility has become such a focus for so many #workout programs for good reason. Without it you can’t build great strength in the lower body and you increase risk of low back pain. That’s why many have turned to the shinbox drill. Being in this position really challenges internal rotation of the hips which a lot of people lack and causes problems. However, if you don’t have good mobility just being in this position simply causes pain and doesn’t help #flexibility .

💪🏻 What most people miss is that lack of #mobility is usually also covering for lack of stability somewhere else often in the #core . So if we want to unlock mobility we have to also create stability. How do we do so? #DVRT masters @dvrtfitness_uk @ultimate_lady_badass and @envisionfit help me show you ideas!

💪🏻 Using the Ultimate #Sandbag gives us lots of ways to create tension to connect the core to our hips. When we press out we grab and “rip apart” we connect the lats and core through the hands. Pulling in and breaking apart the Ultimate Sandbag with our forearms allows us to use load and tension to build #corestrength for better movement. Combining these strategies with actually moving from the shinbox integrates the #glutes to connect the chains of the body that will free our mobility and movement. Wykonany został w technologii druku 3D, a następnie pokryty warstwą utwardzająco-wygładzającą, dzięki której uzyskaliśmy jego gładką powierzchnię. Realizacja tego projektu znacząco wzbogaciła nasze doświadczenia w zakresie projektowania geometrii wózka, a także wskazała nam kierunek dalszych rozważań odnośnie manipulacji objętością obiektu w taki sposób, by uzyskać zminimalizowaną masę przy zachowaniu sztywności.

DESKBOUND?

Sitting (or standing) at a desk causes your body to cave in. That’s fine for a short time but if you’re at your desk for several hours a day, it’s important to counteract that with chest and hip openers.

Some other tips for desk workers:
⚡️Get a standup desk! You are doing your body such a disservice by keeping it stuck in a chair all day.
⚡️Take your shoes off! Stop casting your feet all day - remove the shoes and wiggle your damn toes!
⚡️Get something to stand on that allows you to expose the feet to different surfaces. I've been using an @ergodriven mat for a few weeks and it really helps keep my lower body moving throughout the day - feels really good to FEEL the different contours of the mat with the feet.

After reading about all the benefits that the Split Squat offered I started practicing the movement about a month ago. Body Weight: I started by doing it near the squat rack in case I needed help with maintaining my balance. My front knee goes beyond 90 degrees and past my toes. Core, glutes, quads, hamstrings, hip flexors, vmo.
Observation: I need to work on controlling my rear knee landing during the forward movement.
*I’ve noticed that my gait is stronger and more stable. 
Hence, I’ve also started to do interval sprints @ 64. #flexibility #mobility #strength #compound #movement #training #gait #sprint #gains

I am all about bringing back the old days of neighborhood play for kids and for adults. 
Play🤙Strong💪🏼 is an attitude. I believe group play is fun and shouldn’t end with our childhood. 
I believe adults need daily recess, too. 
Crab skills (or crab day) are my favorite moves to undo the damage from the hours of sitting on this bus commuting. The suprascapular nerve originates from the superior aspect of the brachial plexus (C5-C6), runs laterally through the posterior triangle to the posterior scapular region.

The suprascapular nerve is a mixture of both sensory and motor fibres. Sensory branches innervating the glenohumeral and acromioclavicular joints. Motor branches innervating the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles - two of the four rotator cuff muscles.

Here is electrotherapeutic dry needling to supraspinatus and medial deltoid to actively assist the body by inducing a local biochemical change that promotes healing, potentially reducing the recovery time.

Love them or hate them mobility drills are a must to help reset the body from the constant stresses and strains of training and every day living 😀😀😀😀 Today we put crossfit athlete @dave.e3633 through a few drills and the results were cramptastic 😂😂😂😂 "Today Dave were going to do a roll over"

Fast forward 1 minute and we have the video footage for this post. 
No there wasn't a #sniper hiding in the gym that caused Dave to roll around it was the instant abdominal cramp that started as soon as Dave tried a roll over 😀😀😀 Mobility should not be neglected and should not be practiced only if you have a niggle or injury. If you run a mobility drill everytime you train the chances are you will avoid niggles and injuries. In Dave's case cramp is cramp and if its gonna attack its gonna attack however the more roll overs Dave performs the less likely he will cramp in this position. 💪💪💪 #apexabilitygym #teamaag #gym #mobility #iflows #movemore #movementismedicine #pilates

Upper body mobility day has me sayin’ oweeeyyy!

With trying to focus more on pull ups, and getting my deltoids to activate, I’ve been really trying to take that upper trapezius out of the game.

With all the being said, my upper trap is tight (as this is typical in most people) and is creating some restriction and neck pain.

So I did some LIGHT traction  and PNF stretching.
1. Long loop band in right, tuck chin to right side of pec, I then lightly pressed downwards getting a further stretch. I hardly press as this is pretty intense.
2. I do the same thing but move my ear to shoulder (lateral bend).
3. Lacrosse ball oscillations on upper trap. When I find an extra taut area I work to release it.
4. Lacrosse ball ROM. I find a trigger point, stay there, and move my arms back and forth, creating tissue movement around that area.

The long loop band creates a slight traction,  and the lacrosse ball provides self fasciae/muscle release. Always working on improving my body and a lot of that take listening to it! Drop below any questions! Can’t wait to add mobility to the Daily Feel Good!

No gluten and no caffeine and I’m feeling chipper, wonder if I’m going to have a caffeine crash soon 😂 trying to get on my mat at least 4 times a week at the moment to build a more consistent practice.
