When you look at the mirror of life what do you see? Life is like a mirror and when we change our expression (the meaning we give things) everything changes. Try this the next time something that appears to be “negative” happens. Choose to give it a positive meaning. Trust me on this. I know it sounds ridiculous, like some type of “wishful thinking” etc. The truth is depending on our focus and the perspective we choose that will determine the effect we get out of it. If you give it positive meaning your state goes up, you don’t carry negative resistance and because of that more positive things happen. Is your boss putting pressure on you? Be grateful you have a job or grateful that she or he values you enough to get something done. Someone say something rude or is judging you? Know that you can take that as a opportunity to become more grounded in your own validation. Lost your job? Maybe you didn’t really like it anyways and now you can focus on what your real passion is. Whatever it is if you give it a positive meaning and trust the process, you will see that reflection in life. The mirror will have no choice but to change✌️much love! 🙏⠀

Just spent an incredible week @maisondelavaure cooking for @rachelelouise__ and @katiesilvs on their yoga and fitness retreat in the beautiful Bordeaux countryside. We ate vibrant plant based food all week made with local seasonal ingredients. 
Thankyou to all of the grateful hungry retreaters who were open to trying different cuisines daily and exploring new plant based nutritional options.  Thankyou to Rachel and Katie for helping with the shopping trips!  And to @oatkitchen for giving me this opportunity. What a team we were! Now I’m off to Glastonbury for a rest! .

🥦You know the stalk part of broccoli that you always through away? Try juicing it! This juice is 3 broccoli stalks, 🍊3 oranges, about 🥕4 small carrots, 🥝1 kiwi because it was sitting on my counter for too long, and a big piece of ginger. It turned out delicious! Kaju, badem, fındık, ay çekirdeği gibi birçok farklı kuruyemiş ürünlerinden süt, yoğurt, peynir ve krema elde edebiliyoruz. Süt üretimindeki süreç oldukça basit. Kullanacağınız kuruyemişleri minimum 8 saat boyunca suyun içerisinde bekletin. Sonraki gün bekleyen suyu süzüp, bu kuruyemişleri blenderın içinde çevirin. Kuruyemiş miktarının 3 katı kadar su ekleyip karıştırın. Daha tatlı alternatifler için, blenderdaki karışımın içerisine hurma gibi tatlandırıcılar ekleyebilirsiniz. Sonrasında bir tülbent veya sadece bu süzme işlemi için satılan süzme bezlerini kullanarak karışımı cam bir kaba süzün. Elde ettiğiniz sütü 4 gün buzdolabında saklayabilirsiniz. Bunu yaparken elimizde yüksek miktarda posa kalıyor. Bu posayı kraker, smoothie veya kurabiye yaparak değerlendirebilirsiniz.

❄️ Precisa resfriar na geladeira quando finalizar a preparação, assim ela vai manter a consistência cremosa e durará mais dias (máximo 7 hein?)

Essas foram as quantidades que utilizei, porque queria que rendesse para a semana inteira. Mas você pode fazer “no olho” e ir diminuindo as quantidades. Sem problemas!

👉🏻 INGREDIENTI (18 muffins, stampini in alluminio Cuki) • 600ml albume • 75gr farina di avena aromatizzata al biscotto @prozisitalia o classica (reperibile anche certificata senza glutine!!) • 1 mango intero • aroma di mango (io ho utilizzato h20 infusion @prozisitalia, in alternativa potete aggiungere all’impasto 100gr di mango frullato)
• 1/2 bustina di lievito per dolci naturale

Montate l’albume a neve insieme ad un pizzico di sale e l’aroma di mango (se non disponibile, aggiungete 1 cucchiaio colmo di stevia o zucchero di canna integrale). Unite gli ingredienti secchi (farine e lievito) ed incorporateli a pioggia e velocità minima agli albumi. Se utilizzate il mango frullato: aggiungetelo al composto alla fine mescolando sempre a bassa velocità e nello stesso verso. Spennellate gli stampini di olio di semi di girasole o arachide, versate il composto e sulla superficie il mango tagliato a cubetti. Infornate a 180gradi per 20minuti circa, facendo la prova dello stecchino a fine cottura. .

How would you feel about taking sausage rolls into work for lunch? As I was packing my sauso's for lunch the other day I thought that people might judge me because it wasn't a 'healthy' lunch (heightened by the fact I'm a Dietitian)! How wild is that? But so #IRL and I'm sure a fear of judgement that lots of people experience.⁠⠀

The moral of this story is that I made sausage rolls and I wanted to eat them because they are delicious. Foods are not 'good' or 'bad'- all foods provide nutrition. I eat food for many reasons eg: taste, texture, satisfaction, health, comfort, hunger... aka food is more than nutrients. People have no right to judge you for eating food, it's your fundamental right to eat without judgement, so next time you pack your lunch, pack it for YOU! Leave that office BS behind and find a park near work in the sun to enjoy your lunch in peace. Mindful eating at it's finest mother f'ers!⁠⠀

One of my favourite things in the world to do is to create in the kitchen. I have always LOVED cooking. Helping mum in the kitchen is one of my most treasured childhood memories. 
Food is so deeply rooted into our being. Not just for nourishment but for pleasure. This healing diet that I have been on for the past 5 months has challenged me in many ways but I think the MOST challenging part is the feeling of losing part of my identity. That part being my creative side. Although I may be clutching at straws, I still get my fix where I can. I don’t know what to call this😅 but the base layer is a baked sweet potato and parsnip mash with a pumpkin puree on top and finished with zucchini and squash. 
It's not exciting, but it is healing and it was fun to make. So I'll take it. 
Learning to let go is one of the hardest lessons in life. I'm not letting go of my creative side but I am letting go of the grip that food has had on me my entire life. I am no longer a slave to my food nor is it my bandaid anymore and that is extremely liberating.

Ok, so here is a little confession. I struggle so much with mindful eating 😑. I’m a quick eater and I’ve been working on this for the last few months. Habits are formed through regular repetition and I’ve been a quick eater since I can remember.. so probably my whole life haha 🙈

To start practicing mindful eating was one of my NY resolutions, so I started reading, listening to podcasts  and researching about this topic. I feel that this is a topic that hasn’t been spoken about a lot in social media but it’s so important and it has a great impact on your weightloss journey! ☝🏽.

Mindful Eating helps to bring your focus to the task you're doing in the present moment –🍴 EATING 🍴– and paying deliberate attention to what's going on inside and around you.

Research has shown that Mindful Eating can help in identifying unhealthy behavior patterns around food i.e. eating too much, or eating when you're not actually hungry and don't need to eat ☝🏽

I’ve researched a lot about this topic and below 👇🏾👇🏾 are the key takeaways that have helped me and could help YOU implement mindfulness eating to your day to day:

✖️Tip #1: Only Eat.
Eating in front of the computer or TV, in the car, while reading or any other time when your attention is elsewhere is an easy way to lose track of what and how much you’ve eaten. Get rid of all distractions and focus on YOUR FOOD!

✖️ Tip #2: Mind the First Bite.
Research has shown that the very first bite of tasty food is the most rewarding!
Focusing on the very first bite of every food you eat can also help ensure that the decision to begin eating is an intentional one, as opposed to a reflexive or even unconscious response.

✖️Tip #3: Mouth Full/Fork Empty (This is my absolute favourite takeaway)
If there is food in your mouth, there shouldn't be food on your fork. Wait until you've finished chewing and swallowing the food in your mouth before beginning to compose the next forkful. This simple habit is a life changer!

Habits are formed through regular repetition and I’ve been a quick eater since I can remember.. so probably my whole life haha  . To start practicing mindful eating was one of my NY resolutions, so I started reading, listening to podcasts and researching about this topic. I feel that this is a topic that hasn’t been spoken about a lot in social media but it’s so important and it has a great impact on your weightloss journey! 🏽. . Mindful Eating helps to bring your focus to the task you're doing in the present moment – EATING – and paying deliberate attention to what's going on inside and around you. . Research has shown that Mindful Eating can help in identifying unhealthy behavior patterns around food i.e. eating too much, or eating when you're not actually hungry and don't need to eat 🏽 . I’ve researched a lot about this topic and below 🏾🏾 are the key takeaways that have helped me and could help YOU implement mindfulness eating to your day to day: . ️Tip #1 : Only Eat. Eating in front of the computer or TV, in the car, while reading or any other time when your attention is elsewhere is an easy way to lose track of what and how much you’ve eaten. Get rid of all distractions and focus on YOUR FOOD! . ️ Tip #2 : Mind the First Bite. Research has shown that the very first bite of tasty food is the most rewarding! Focusing on the very first bite of every food you eat can also help ensure that the decision to begin eating is an intentional one, as opposed to a reflexive or even unconscious response. . ️Tip #3 : Mouth Full/Fork Empty (This is my absolute favourite takeaway) If there is food in your mouth, there shouldn't be food on your fork. Wait until you've finished chewing and swallowing the food in your mouth before beginning to compose the next forkful. This simple habit is a life changer! . Portions | what is a healthy portion? 
Our goal is to avoid feeling starved or stuffed. Think of segments - fill most of your plate with veggies and greens and add on some grounding foods as grains, root vegetables, proteins and fats.
It is important to remember that how we eat can be as critical as what we eat. Studies show that food is more satisfying when your pay attention to what you’re eating.
We must practice recognizing our own personal hunger and satiety signals. And most importantly, we need to act on them.

Today’s seasonal crop is broad beans also known as fava beans. You will find them filling the stalls of most farmers’ markets and local green grocers in the UK at the moment. Look for firm and crisp pods and avoid softer, air filled pods to ensure optimum freshness. Frozen podded broad beans are also available in supermarkets for convenience which is great when the season is over, or you are a little more pressed for time. During peak season I find there is something quite therapeutic about mindfully podding them out of their casing (they have the softest furry protective insides). It is a nice way to slow down and really put some love into your food, nourishing yourself both physically and mentally

Once you have podded the beans simply place them in a pan of boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Drain and rinse the beans under cold water. For the final touch to your dish double pod by removing the thin skin covering each individual bean. Again a little bit of an extra effort but it really makes the green in these pop and lets the ingredient shine through

I wrote this in Bali nearly two years ago.. so I’m quoting myself ha ha... the feeling I’m writing about here is part of my daily practice of gratitude. 
Each morning as I’m doing my breath work, I bring the experiences to mind that prompted this post and I sit (grinning to myself) in the feeling of it - the excitement, the sparkle, the energy I felt. It is a daily reminder that when I am in flow and vibrating with openness and love, when I am truly grounded in myself, present and allow myself to be seen... magic happens! For me, this is about trusting the universe has a plan and flowing with it. 
How cool is it that I have the power to change my own energy? Our bodies respond to vibration, they respond to feeling... so this is a wonderful tool to bring me into a high vibration before I start my day.

Every emotion communicates a message. When something happens and you experience an emotional response, this is a feedback system letting you know how you feel about something.

For example, anger is an emotion that feels uncomfortable and it’s not the nicest emotion to experience. However, when you look at the message that anger communicates, anger is often here to tell you that a value of yours has been compromised or breached. In the vast majority of cases, what makes us angry is an action or behavior that directly conflicts with our values, which is why it doesn’t feel good. But if you can take a moment to pause and ask your anger what it’s here to tell you, you’ll be reminded of a value that’s important to you, or you may even uncover a value you didn’t realize you had.

Sadness, loneliness, fear and disappointment point us to where our wounds are and what needs to be healed.

Jealousy almost always points us to our deepest desires.

Resentment is a clear sign that our boundaries are being breached and need to be honored.

Não só com raiva, mas quando qq emoção/sentimento surge e vc não se dá conta disso, o sentimento se funde a vc, seus pensamentos se tornam suas emoções (e vice-versa), e há grandes chances, se não parar e respirar, que a reatividade, a impulsividade, o calor do momento, façam com que seu comportamento não seja o mais adequado para o momento!

Quantas vezes na vida reconhece que foi levado pela emoção? Quantas vc se deu conta que a postura, a escolha que adotou só piorou o quadro? Quantas vc se arrependeu por isso?
.
Através de Mindfulness eu consigo ter consciência destes caminhos da mente e do coração, me torno mais íntimo deles e aprendo como costumo ser quando uma emoção invade meu momento!
.
Consigo com o tempo e prática constante adotar novos olhares e agir diferente, a reatividade, o automatismo perdem terreno para a serenidade e a sabedoria.

Seria lindo se pudéssemos separar a intensidade de um sentimento negativo que ganha força através de ações e reconhecer possibilidades e caminhos mais saudáveis para lidar com o momento  né?! Stamattina ho parlato con 4 clienti e tutti e 4 mi hanno detto di non aver fatto colazione, o di aver preso solo un caffè, magari con due biscotti, in piedi prima di uscire.
Poi penso a me, che la mattina mi alzo due ore prima di uscire, ma la colazione seduta al tavolo non me la toglie nessuno.
Magari preparata la sera prima alle 23 dopo una giornata piena.. ma in fondo perché lo faccio? Perchè mi prendo cura di me.

I lost 3lb after my two day shred, feeling less bloated too...definitely eating healthy whole foods and drinking water helped. Veo muchos posts y artículos promoviendo un enfoque de no-dieta centrando/enfatizando el argumento de "hacer dieta engorda". La redacción varía, y puede ser algo así como "hacer dieta resulta en aumento de peso a largo plazo". Muchos de ellos son publicados por profesionales que dicen promover un enfoque de aceptación, respeto y confianza corporal. 
Yo misma al hacer la transición hacia un enfoque inclusivo con respecto al peso y de Salud en Todas las Tallas cometí ese error... aprendemos por imitación y muchxs de mis maestrxs estaban utilizando ese argumento.

Con el tiempo he llegado a comprender lo problemático de ese argumento, puesto que únicamente refuerza la premisa de que la delgadez es el objetivo a perseguir, de que si las dietas funcionaran entonces estaría justificado someter al cuerpo a restricción y promover conductas alimentarias de riesgo. Perpetúa la mirada gordofóbica (aunque sea con las mejores intenciones y de manera inadvertida). Si eres profesional de salud y quieres promover inclusión, respeto y justicia corporal, por favor deja de incluir al peso en tus argumentos. 
Si buscas promover un enfoque radicalmente distinto, elige deliberadamente omitir el argumento de "las dietas engordan". Analiza de manera crítica el argumento que eliges enfatizar y su impacto.
