ARE YOU ALWAYS HUNGRY? ⠀

👉🏼 I’ve had quite a few people messaging me lately to ask for advice about always feeling hungry. So I thought I might share some info in a post for anyone else struggling. ⠀
⠀
🥦 The first place I would always check if I were always hungry are my macronutrient levels. We need to have a nice balance of these macros (protein, carbs, fat) for our body to function optimally. If our body can feel that we are depriving ourselves of any of the main macro’s it will send signals of hunger and continue to send these signals until it’s received the nutrients needed. ⠀
⠀
If you are unsure about your food, if you’re getting a good balance of macronutrients or if you are lacking in specific nutrients it would be worth going to see a nutritionist or dietician to get it checked out. ⠀
⠀
🤯 Eating speed is another area that I would focus on. If you are scoffing your food down, it doesn’t give your brain enough time to catch up. So again it will keep sending signals to keep eating until it’s managed to catch up. At this point you have probably already over eaten. ⠀
⠀
💆🏼‍♀️ Stress is another area to look at. Some people lose their hunger when their stressed, others stress eat (that’s me). When we are stress we can turn to food for comfort and as a way of literally feeling our emotions. If you are living a stressful lifestyle of going through some hard tones, it might be worth introducing some stress reduction activities. ⠀

👉🏼 These are my top three tips for hunger. There are of course many more reasons as to why you could be feeling intense amounts of hunger, but these are great places to start 🙌🏼⠀

These types of things play tricks on people’s minds and could cause someone to have distorted body image and actually DEVELOP a negative relationship with food as a result of that... 🍴

If someone’s health is at risk then yes, step in. But if they are simply healthy, exercise for pure enjoyment and strength building, and feed their body with giant plates of rainbow coloured food, then let them do what makes them happy.. 🥙

At the end of the day we CHOOSE how we want to look. If I wanted it sit on the couch all day eating ice-cream, I would. But I choose to look like this and promote a HEALTHY lifestyle, body image and confidence 👑

And yeah, it’s okay to have shape. You don’t need to be super lean all the time. But this is my body as a result of my lifestyle and I LOVE IT!!! 🔥

BODY BUTTER || ⁣

I was that girl OBSESSED with Lush! Their bath bombs, shower jellies, hair treatments but mostly their sleepy body butter 😍 it just smelt delicious! ⁣

Then when I was becoming more aware of what products I was using and how certain ingredients can have harmful effects I realised a product I loved didn’t really love me.. so I decided to make my own! 🤷🏽‍♀️ ⁣

Have you looked at the ingredients inside normal body moisturisers? I dare you to have a look! Does it have artificial fragrance? Or long scientific words you can’t pronounce!? Did you know that if you actually dug a little deeper and researched the side effects of those ingredients lots of them trace back too “skin irritations” yet they’re used in a body moisturiser!? #mindblown 🤯 ⁣
⁣
This recipe is SO simple with only 5 ingredients!! 😍⁣
3/4 cup of Shea butter ⁣
1/4 coco butter ⁣
1/4 coconut oil ⁣
1/4 cup bees wax (or candelilla wax to be vegan friendly) ⁣
20 drops of dōTERRA essential oil ⁣
I used 10 yarrow Pom and 10 lavender peace to make it smell just like the lush sleepy! ⁣
⁣
Melt everything in a glass bowl using the double boiler method on the stove. Once melted let cool slightly and then add your essential oils. Place glass bowl in the freezer and wait 20-30 minutes until firmly set. Once set use electric mixture to whip the mixture it should resemble whipped cream! Place into sterilised glass container and ta-da your very own clean body butter which you’ve saved money, the earth and now yourself by making! 🙌🏻⁣

Growing up, my mum would always buy me yoghurt covered raisins, fruits clusters etc. with the aim of it being the ‘healthier’ ( more nutrient dense) alternative to chocolate 😒 Little did she know that the so called ‘yoghurt’ coating is actually made mostly of ingredients like sugar, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, corn syrup etc.

These days, I like to reach for a far more satisfying snack- that is so quick and easy to make!

👈On the left we have 50g yoghurt covered fruit clusters
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉On the right we have 100g blueberries dipped in 100g plain low fat organic yoghurt sweetened with stevia. I make this by taking a toothpick and dipping the blueberries into the yoghurt( if you’re lazy and don’t care for appearance you can pour blueberries in bowl of yoghurt and mix until all of them are well covered). I then line a tray with baking paper and spread the blueberries on it evenly. Place in the freezer and allow to set!

Hi everyone, happy Monday to you. I’ve got a luscious day planned over at HWK HQ - i’m making Bliss balls, smoothie bowls and there’ll of course be lots of tea-making! Always tea. I also re-discovered my banner that I had made for The Sun & Moon Festival a couple of summers ago 🌞🌙 I loved doing the smoothie workshop and talking to people about the benefits of blending and juicing! It reminded me that there really are no limits to what we can achieve; anything is possible if we put our minds to it and our hearts in it. For me, the combination of vision, determination and self-belief seem to be a winning formula that's making some really exciting things happen. So, whatever your particular formula for winning is, keep doing that! Don't be limited by or feel afraid of those pesky thoughts of self-doubt, they're really there to show us a) how far we've come and b) that we can do it! Keep pushing forwards and forging your way towards your goals.....
With our very first Wild & Wholesome Retreat coming-up, @wildyoga_ceri and I are so happy to be creating something beautiful for people to enjoy, a space where they can relax, restore, re-energise and recapture peace and calmness within their mind, body & soul ❤️❤️❤️

This week from 17th to 23rd June 2019, we are taking part in the Refugee Week’s 7 Simple Acts. 

To help raise awareness and funds, we are running a donation-based Yoga event in Wollaton Park, for World Refugee Day on Thursday 20th June at 7pm to 8pm. 

Everyone is welcome, please bring people along with you, and a yoga mat! The more the merrier all welcome (aged 17+).

Curiosity has historically been associated with intellectual pursuits, memory, the way we engage with the world, and our capacity to learn from these experiences. More recently, however, research has begun to look at the role curiosity plays in our social relationships. Curiosity, the desire to approach novel and challenging ideas and experiences in order to increase or updates one’s knowledge, can be described as the “social glue” strengthening our relationships. Research suggest that people who are curious about others are often viewed as more interesting and engaging in social situations and are more likely to connect with a wider variety of people. Being curious also appears to act as a buffer that can be used to protect yourself from negative social experiences, such as rejection. Curious people also appear to be less aggressive, with research suggesting that this is due to their motivation to learn and understand different viewpoints (rather than judging others) and consequently, an increased capacity to dissolve conflict. Curious people appear to enjoy socialising more, giving them an opportunity to form new relationships, with these findings holding true even for socially anxious people. From my understanding, curiosity has such a positive impact on our relationships because when we are curious, we are physically, emotionally and cognitively open to AND actively approaching (or seeking out) new information about other people, ourselves and our world. For some of our relationships (particularly longstanding relationships with family, friends or our partners), we often find ourselves automatically jumping to the position of assuming that we know everything there is to know about them. When this happens, try using curiosity to counteract this and enjoy the benefits for your relationships, your mental wellbeing and the development of new neural pathways in your brain 💫

Week 2 Gen Pop eating.

Still low carb this week so lots of nuts and avocado.

Breakfast: egg white omelette topped with some @oldelpaso salsa, smashed avocado and macadamia nuts.

Snacks: High fat tamari almonds and my all-time favourite @mayversfood dark roasted peanut butter.

Lunch: turkey mince, cabbage and green beans cooked in soy sauce, garlic and sesame oil.

Snack 2 (or dessert): smoothie bowl of @optimumnutrition.au protein powder, almond milk and frozen raspberries.

Week 2 Gen Pop eating. Still low carb this week so lots of nuts and avocado. Breakfast: egg white omelette topped with some @oldelpaso salsa, smashed avocado and macadamia nuts. Snacks: High fat tamari almonds and my all-time favourite @mayversfood dark roasted peanut butter. Lunch: turkey mince, cabbage and green beans cooked in soy sauce, garlic and sesame oil. CHOCOLATE ON A MONDAY.

Today is WEEK 2 for my SUMMER READY CAMP members.  This week we are all focusing on RESETTING our body.

This involves eliminating foods that cause inflammation, create false energy, and foods we may be intolerant to.

Basically all foods that doesn't serve a purpose in our body.

This helps to decrease those cravings, triggers and habits and lets our natural body functions resume their proper course.

I'm pretty excited as I will be going through it with my amazing group.  First off this morning will be my Chocolate Banana Smoothie.

Oh....today is going to be a GREAT day. I can feel it in my bones.

I love love love everything about this pizza. The flavors are an absolute match made in heaven and so too are the textures. This low-net carb featured my Caulicrust! Fit for a super 💯“healthy” pizza night, Netflix and chill, or game day!! 😜🍕👏🏻.

You will need to make my Caulicrust Pizza, no-cool Marinara Sauce and my Ricotta Nut Cheese ahead of time for this recipe. I find it easiest to make these on separate days and store them in the fridge ready for our pizza night. Please don’t feel intimidated to make my nut cheese 🧀As you will discover with my simple recipe you will be empowered to create your very own homemade nut cheeses at home. Your nut cheese will be dairy-free and devoid of the junk that’s usually in the dairy-free store-bought cheeses. If you do well with dairy, feel free to add preferably grass-fed full fat cheese of choice!.

I just came back from a day of flying. Literally left this morning at 4am, and turned right back around at 4pm. Flying is hard on the body, not only is it dehydrating, but it’s hard on your nerves. Need a mid-flight pick me up? Nerves jangled from turbulence or general flight anxiety? It’s so important to extend your wellness routine even when you travel. Try this recipe:

Mix the following essential oils with a carrier oil like jojoba, hemp, or sweet almond oil. I put the mixture in roller bottles that I buy from Whole Foods, and pack it in my carry on. If you try it, let me know how it goes! Happy skies!

Flight Anxiety Aromatherapy: - 5 drops of fresh ginger essential oil (EO)
- 5 drops of peppermint EO
- 5 drops of clary sage EO
- 3 drops of cypress EO

This is your friendly reminder to STAY HYDRATED! Water is SOOOOOOO HEALING! If you’re reading this right now go drink some water. It does the body good. 💦 @mountainvalleywater Spring Water is my fave! My daily water goal is minimum 100oz—now that it’s summer I’ve increased it up to 128oz/day which is 1 gallon. I drink 24oz with lemon water first thing in the morning to wake me up, rehydrate after 8hrs of sleep and get a head start on my water consumption for the day. Feeeeelzzz so Good!
