Henna / Mehndi 🏾....
A message for Brides/ Bridal Parties/ Bridal guests/ Those who will be adorning their hands and feet with Henna or Mehndi: Do it Up!!!
I know - I spend a lot of time nixing this (charcoal), that (toners), or the other (biotin) in my posts.
But, if you have the opportunity to enjoy this celebratory ritual, the results are 🥳. I've had Henna done 4x and I like it more each time.
"Natural" henna is sourced from the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis) giving it a reddish brown hue. The bold Black tint is often achieved through addition of hair dye agents like PPD (paraphenylene diamine).
For people who are PPD allergic (i.e. you get an eczema like reaction with redness, itch, scaling and possibly little vesicle water bubble spots about 48 hours after exposure), this adornment is a 🏾♀️.
(Sorry, to the 2.5% of you who will react )
However, for the rest of us, 😀🏾🏾🏾😀.
