“Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God (Divine, source, universe, Allah, Buddha) the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, humans will have discovered fire.” - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
My heart is in pain over the recent terror attacks. We keep reaching increasingly critical moments in our humanity - opportunities again and again to ask "What is this world that we have created? How do we remedy the violence and discrimination and unjust suffering?"
So much pain, so much grief, so much confusion and anger.
And yet, one thing I know for sure: Love is the greatest inclusion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Love is not just a state, or a mood, or an experience.
Love is a VERB. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One that we need to take into our town halls, our schools, our parliaments, into our foreign policy, into our environmental conservation. And we are all responsible for the cultures we create on the ground. It's no use simply pointing the finger upward and demanding change. We must live by example and normalise a new paradigm of love that is woke, just and includes all.
Please reach out to people in your life that are different to you: Let them know that you care, see them as human, support their right to life and freedom.
We are in this together. Our Interbeing is everything.
