I always thought about how I would write this when the time came so I figure I’d do it like I do most things, straight from the heart, no filter, well okay maybe a little bit of a filter… .
Eight years ago I moved to the DC area from NYC for a job that would for better or worse turn into a way of life and thinking more so than a 9 to 5 . It would become a second home and the people I met and worked with would become like my second family. .
I would be blessed to build a creative team and lay the foundation of what this organization looks likes now and hopefully into the future. I would be blessed to be given the creative freedom to experiment and think outside the box and even buy and build a branded bus. I would be blessed to travel the world to photograph our work and document the people we’ve helped. .
I have captured over 27,000 images and hours of footage in these 8 years in over twenty countries, I have seen so many places and met so many people. I’ve interacted, shaken hands, shared tea and I don't even drink tea, cried and most importantly laughed with people of every shade and color and language. It has taught me so much about my fellow man/woman and more importantly about myself. I always considered myself a creative but I would never consider myself a humanitarian, but the things I've seen and learned have shown me what it's supposed to be like to be a human. To listen and to care with open ears, eyes and heart.
I have shared many stories and photos and there is still so much more to share.
I want to say thank you to all those around the country and world I have met and worked with, it has been an honor.
I am officially now a free agent and I am excited to see what free agency brings and the next phase of my professional career… .
