I realized today that the offset brackets i make for the monolift arms that so many companies sell work out great BUT i am always paying another company for the monolift arms.... Now if i can incorporate it all into one piece.... Maybe less cost for the customer and less shipping and hassle cost for me..... May have to make a prototype and have someone test it out for a while.

My thought of the day-- which came to me as I was running a mile (which could always be an indicator of a bad idea)-- If I Viper Press the log at USS nationals, I'll get more reps. You know, because it's faster. Today's workout: 5 sets of 3 at comp weight. Definitely faster, but I heard the angels singing... Not sure what I expected from tonight late,start and,my body said no by 12 this after noon...either way solid mediocre night. Thank god for that Cerberus infinity belt...and my extreme sleeves keeping my bicep a little help. I skipped the clean today in attempt to give it some rest.

The Lionstate Classic II was my first Strongman Competition. I finished third in the men's open middle weight, weighing 210 lbs!

It's hard to express how much this comp meant to me. A little less than a year ago I went to the hospital with unusual abdominal pain. I had a blood clot in one of the arteries going to my right kidney. Thanks to amazing doctors and modern medicine, the cause was found and treated, the majority of my kidney was saved, and I'm still able to do the activities I love. It was a difficult recovery process for me, but I've surpassed the man I was before that incident, physically and, more importantly, mentally.

Brian Alsruhe @neversate , Joey Szatzmary @lionsdenelitetraining , and everyone from Neversate and The Lion's Den, @uncle.nic @alenarose620 @oluwatofunmi_exito @smiles_taylor , and so many others, came together to put on an absolutely great comp. Thank you all for everything you did to make the Lionstate Classic II an amazing experience for everyone involved.

I can't thank @functional_spine_and_sport enough for making me feel like I have a new shoulder. If you have been dealing with chronic pain, see them. This day would have gone very differently had I not stepped inside Dr. Notoli's office.

Of course, this experience wouldn't have been the same without my brother Mark coming down with me and supporting me, as he always does. It made a huge difference having him by my side. Thanks, broski.

Decent day, can't complain when you hit a small pr🤷‍♂️. Still looking at that 1.5x bodyweight , so 200ish.

Got 160 to ohp set up but literally felt like energy was gone at the top😭. Still working on using leg drive, it's rough when you got chicken legs.

Great Log & Reactive Slingshot session. Went through my typical %s in the slinger and discovered I can now hit 495-505 for dubs which is great. 515x2 brings me to 545 in the reactive so I'm all for that! Not shown unfortunately was a 525 pause rep, faulty camera. Felt like 535 is in me but not "quite" 545, so we'll keep sticking the jab and keep the movements ever rotating. After 525 & 495x2 (I hit the rack, I shouldn't of raised it that set... I'm counting it...it's my yard...fuck you.) along with 475x2 which felt like lifting my dog I hit a shit ton of singles with 495/500/505. I mean....a ...shit....ton.  Not even all singles are shown, I'm just forcing adaptation. Next Reactive session I WILL hit 500 or 505 for a 2x2 or so then gradually increase from there until I'm at 515. Log work after, pretty spent so I'm taking what I have left into the mix. Next rotation Log will be first & so forth. As long as the same movement isn't replicated twice in a rotation (first) i go up quite easily (it feels fresh/the lift) but the moment I go off that discipline and replicate it twice, I get no reward besides "Over Reaching" stimulation aka Over Saturation...which also has it's place. Finished with 235/250/260 on log for 5/4/3. Really getting there, may already be there but I'm enjoying my life, my family and my training. When I was your age I had to carry heavy ass frames up hill both ways... just as soon as I hit my stride my damn left strap let loose... bummer because that sucker was moving. Heavy ass log work from today too... little too much pepper on my last viper press though lol -

Captain No Calves coming at you with Day one of a new program. Y’all are gonna think I’m an idiot but one of the biggest things I was doing wrong was setting PRs for every powerlifting lift. There’s no bench in strongman, boi, and squats are usually an assistance exercise. So, I threw out the playbook and have begun focusing on rep PRs with an occasional one rep max for max events (log, deadlift, etc.)
I feel so liberated and excited that day one began with a rep PR of 245 for 4 on strict press (would have been more but I spent my energy thinking I could do 275 for multiple reps...) Either way we’re feeling good about programming and are excited for progress... oh and I bought a circus dumbbell! Hoping it arrives soon!!!

Judges briefing & rules 9:30-9:45
Competition starts 10:00 prompt.
Eligibility :- An Open competition for all. 
Categories :- Men 105kg and under / Over 105kg
Women Open Weight

Awards:- Top 3 in each category plus award for strongest Rhino's Member 105kg and under and also over 105kg
Medal for all

Entry Fee :- £25 (£10 for Rhino's Members) to include competition T shirt.

1. Deadlift - Rising bar max weight for one rep or Rhino's Car for reps
2. Yoke & Farmers carry - Fastest time , set weight over set distance

First go on the log..... assuming the logs 55kg then this is 80kg....but could be 75. Either way not too bothered and happy to see just the log move. Plenty to work on for comp on 28th July.

The problem with most athletes in this day and age is nobody is "strong". The term strong means "having the power to move heavy weights or perform other physically demanding tasks." As a athlete,  your sport has physical demands that require you to be strong, be in shape (conditioning), and sometimes requires you to perform at maximum duration at a long period of time (stamina). Therefore, the best compound exercise to help a athlete become stronger is the deadlift. You can use dumbbells, kettlebells, plates, barbells, bands, or whatever device to do the movement. But if you're a sprinter or any type of "skill set" athlete, it is essential that you install the deadlift into your training regime. So you can separate yourself from your competition. Few of the best sprinters in the world can sumo and conventional deadlift three times their body weight. Which leads to them running some of the fastest times in the world. To deadlift 3 times your body weight represents how strong you are as a athlete, it also shows how much "power" you produce. Being strong and producing power are two different things. To produce power is to move or travel with great speed or force.
