"I am driven by passion, empowered through leadership, and humbled by Christ" -Christina, 2019
So many women have taken the leap of faith and decided to take business in their own hands. Well, for me, it was literal business. I started my career before I started college; working in sales and fundraising at the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. A headstrong, passionate sales associate. I had goals and plans for the lifestyle I wanted to create, the woman I was to become. In some ways, I have failed. I certainly have failed college classes and exams, I have failed those around me and had to learn some hard lessons along the way. I failed in areas thought I would never be lacking in. But what is success without learning to accept one's own limitations and moving forward despite failures. In the past few months I have seen great success beyond what I could have ever imagined. My ten year plan turned into a 3-month hustle: starting my first marketing firm, being promoted to the Director of Marketing at LUs Center for Entrepreneurship, being offered several positions and opportunities with local companies, and starting a mentorship program for aspiring entrepreneurs. I couldn't have succeeded without an amazing support system of family, mentors, and dear friends. Especially without the knowledge I gained during my positions at the symphony and teachings from my professors.
Here's to growth. Always doing something you're a little unsure of, and maybe not ready to do. Breakthroughs and moments of strength only found through an amazing Heavenly Father. Speaking out as a voice for an organization and taking part in something greater than yourself. Starting again after failures. Because SUCCESS is what happens after surviving moments of disappointment, and believing you have the strength to overcome and the willpower to continue pushing forward.
