Small Friendly Tips:

✅Front Squat-This squat variation is a great way for exposing all your weak stabilizers. This is also more core/quad emphasized; so you will feel less strain on your lower back, if thats an issue for you. Keep your elbows up the entire time. Pay attention to your breathing—learn to fill those lungs up with air before descending. .
✅Sumo Squat-Try a high rep scheme. This will help you firing your glutes. Split the reps into rep patterns also if you want to change it up—pluse/quarter/deep squats. (for ex: 1 full squat/2 pulse squats/1full squat/2 pulse squats).

✅Walking Lunges-Keep a sight infront of you and follow it—this will help you from looking down. Pay attention to your hip flexion along with your knees. Your knees should not hover beyond the toes when lunging.
.
✅Step Ups-Pretty beginner friendly-keep a good tempo and don’t forget to breathe.
.
✅Low Rope Hip Thrust-Your ASS will love these :) . Get a good wide stance—don’t step too far out, but don’t step to close in—you’ll know when trying to find that sweet spot. Perform a hip hinge—descend with a neutral neck/spine and come back up with a FULL SQUEEZE (your ass should look as gross as possible at the end of this movement).

the best way to end a long hard week ?! : a long hard leg dayyy 🤪
sheesh i miss the days where i had the time to go to the gym every day that i wanted to 😭 but that’s not realistic, especially for those of us going into jobs not in the fitness industry (any other counseling folks out there?! 🙋🏼‍♀️)
between a job that’s 20 hours a week, an internship that’s 20 hours a week, and class, i barely have time to breathe let alone hit the gym as much as i would like.
BUT when i do have time for the gym, im getting in killer workouts. PLUS my progress isn’t deteriorating even if i’m not at the gym as often these days 🙌🏼
in summary, im here to tell you it’s not realistic to be able to go to the gym for 1.5-2 hours every day once you start a job...and that’s okay. you won’t lose all your progress and you have time to focus on other stuff at the end of a long hard day, like spending time with loved ones and resting 💆🏼‍♀️

My legs were killing me this morning after my run yesterday, so my treatment this morning included a hot whirlpool which felt amazing 🤩! I had a pretty relaxing day today which was very much needed 💪🏼. I’m pumped for my meet tomorrow and I can’t wait to see how I do🤪🤗

This workout destroyed me 😅 not just because of its intensity, but I was having such an off day. Everything seemed heavier than usual. My head hurt, I was short of breath. So I took my time. I didn't go as heavy as I would normally. I made sure I was the one in control, not the weight. Everyone has off days, but you dont have to let them win!

✔Wide stance squat: 5×5 - These squats are great for glute activation! Wide stance will put you more on an angle, so it might feel like you're leaning forward a lot. As long as you keep your chest forward and spine straight you're good!

✔Hip thrusts: 4×8 - SQUEEZE your booty at the top of the motion 🔥🍑
.
✔Walking lunges: 4×20 (10 per leg) - I prefer walking, but you could also do these stationary! Taking a wider step will activate your glutes more as well. These are crazy cardio so be prepared 😅🔥🔥
.
✔Single leg press: 4×8 each leg - These burn holy 🔥🔥🔥 make sure to push from your heel
.
✔Adductors: 4×8 - For these its important you squeeze AND hold at the inner position to make the most out of the exercise
.

Quad day. Working on my ROM with front squats. Usually I dont push much with front squats, but I am proud of how far Ive come in terms of ROM! I like to do these and pause at the bottom. Quad day consisted of 5 sets back squats, 4 sets front squats, 3 sets of walking lunges w/ 50lbs, and 4 sets of higher rep leg extensions.

These squats are at 2x speed😂 .
Each set took like a minute for just 3 reps lol. This is the most volume I’ve ever done with 365lbs so I guess @phdeadlift program is working and I should be squatting about 700 by May first. 😂🍑😍💪🏼🏋🏼‍♂️

I’ve been adding eccentric movements in to my workout in some small doses. I had a conversation with a knowledgeable guy at my gym and decided to add them to everything, cause they kick my ass! If you don’t know what eccentric movements are, that’s training in negatives. Which means going very slow and controlled on your way down. Give it a shot, It keeps the tension on your muscles 💪🏻
