Yesterday was back day/lats day. I got a pretty good lats workout and they're pretty sore. I got sore during the workout and from trying to do all of the posing (no joke). I still need to work on the lats spread pose.

Easter Sunday is upper body day and my hands decided to look super vascular. Not complaining! 
Got a barbell row PR, but also failed a heavier set of incline dumbbell press purely because I am USELESS at getting the buggers up there and my delts are weak AF by themselves 🤷‍♀️.
Gotta learn that momentum roll onto the bench next time 😂

Now off to get my legs out and  enjoy the temperature being over 20 degrees 😍

Family and friends are gathering for church, and then likely some sort of brunch today and temptations are everywhere

LOOK, if you are in the middle of a diet, or just making changes to improve your health and body composition then understand this
.
Today is a day that is meant to be spent with family, friends, and obviously, Jesus if that's your thing
.
So, while you will be presented with many food choices today that will go completely against your goals, keep in mind what I just said
.
This isn't about sitting on the sidelines at brunch with your family because you are trying to lose body fat
.
It's not about bringing Tupperware to a family gathering after church because you want to look better for summer
.
You know the choices you should make, so make them. You can still enjoy time and not stress about food
.
Minimize snacking, more protein, keep carb servings to a palm size, and eat more vegetables
.
If you want to have a meal that's a little more lavish, OK, then do it. Don't beat yourself up over it after or feel like you need to go do cardio to burn it off, because that's not how this shit works.

Adjust your day accordingly before or after a meal that is heavier on the calories, and you'll be good to go.

Bit of a short home workout late last night! Spent most of the day out of the house walking around a lot! Misjudged how knackered I’d be following my ‘active rest day’ playing 7 aside so decided to keep the workout light and do it at home! Still got a good workout in though which I’m happy about!

Last heavy deadlift session before comp. Fatigue is really taking me for a ride. I've made an improvement on getting the slack out of the bar and I've managed to reduce my ramping from recent weeks however it's still not satisfactory. 1x1 at 235kg. Was unable to get my back down sets off the floor and have to drop back my 2x2 paused deads from 192.5 to 175kg. If you can’t quite get a pull up in to get you to the top, stand on a box or a step and then slow down the down phase as much as possible.

Keep stepping on the box or step (forget about pulling yourself up) and just focus on slowing the down phase down.

Training rear delts is very important. It not only builds muscle in the rear delts and gives you a complete rounded look of the shoulder from the side, but it has functional benefits as well.
•
The first one I want to mention is that it keeps you from getting injured. Building strong rear delts and rotator cuffs is key to prevent shoulder injury. It also increases your strength output through stability of the shoulder.
•
A very important thing to learn to do when you are doing upper body exercises is to keep your upper back contracted, like how you see me here at the top position. This is again because you need to have stability.
•
The musculature of the upper back which are the traps, rear delts, and rhomboids, are all involved. I like using cables and grabbing them on opposite sides like how you see me do here at the start. This is because I get more range of motion than the dumbbells, especially the stretch.
•
Do this at the end of the workout.

TRY THIS: This is a shoulder superset. Most people like to start of with shoulder press because it's a compound exercise and then do isolation moves.
•
There is one technique called the pre-exhaust technique where you do the isolation first then compound second. So here start of with lateral raises and then move to shoulder press. This was the shoulder press is much more effective.
•
Shoot for 12 reps on lateral raises and then 10 reps on the shoulder press immediately after. Do 4 sets. Do this in the beginning of your workout.
•
The shoulders give you strong presence. When you see someone for the first time you notice their shoulders. They are the show muscles. So don't neglect them.
•
For the last couple weeks I started training shoulders twice a week because I want to bring them up.
