New York has the effect that sometimes you just see so much, that things stop impressing you. Like I am no longer impressed by someone walking seven dogs at a time, or well-kept lash extensions. But there are some things so niche and honorable that I still have to nod my head to.
Things that (still) impress me:
People who can (successfully) pour granola into their yogurt on the train.
People who drink iced coffee when it’s less than 20 degrees out. I acknowledge your commitment to your passion.
People who can eat yogurt on the train and not make it look gross.
People who buy themselves EXPENSIVE things. I think it is so awesome and I am really working towards the point where I can confidently buy myself something truly pricey and feel like I deserve it.
Anyone not related to me by blood who can sustain a relationship with me for more than a couple of years. I can be rough to be friends with. I will love you so much but refuse to text back, need all your attention, give you all my attention, and then disappear for three months. Kudos to you who stick it out.
