I am now 7 weeks in to Keto!!
I’m going to answer some questions I’ve been getting about keto️️
What is keto?
It’s a high fat, high protein, low carb, low sugar diet. My diet consists of 65% fat, 30% protein, and 5% carbs. .
How do you track what you’re eating?
I use the MyFitnessPal app, it’s super easy and self explanatory and I don’t track every day! .
What does keto do?
Ketosis occurs when your body does not have access to its primary fuel source, glucose (sugar). It basically forces your body to rely on fat for energy rather than carbohydrates, so fat stores are broken down instead. .
Why am I doing keto?
I did a “bulk” over winter. I was lifting A LOT, not doing much cardio, and eating a lot more than I normally would. I wanted to not only use it to “cut” but I wanted to try something new and challenge myself. Started keto about 7 weeks ago and I’m really enjoying it. I don’t crave sugar or bread unless someone is eating it right in front of me. I love trying new things and finding different diets/healthy lifestyles that work for me! .
How long are you supposed to do keto for?
That’s really up to you!! I know people who have done it for a few years and I know people who do it for a few months. If you like it and it works for you keep going! If you hate it and you’re not feeling any different, try something new! I don’t know how long I’ll do it for and it’s not a long term lifestyle for me. Eventually I will incorporate carbs (gluten free) back in to my diet but I’ll definitely be more mindful when I’m eating! - 1 hour ago
