My upstairs neighbor and his son love to tease me about my “old man’s phone holder “ , but I just smile and tell them that I’d rather be tracking my steps with a dorky phone holder than being fat and depressed again😃! You see, I don’t have a smart watch. I only have an iPhone with a step app. And my leggings don’t have pockets, so, much of the time I just clip on the clunky holder. Yea, I have a cool zipper pouch that runners use also, but not quite as handy. One of my favorite ME time activities is to sneak away to @summitfitness_auburn for a ass kicking but also because the people always light me up! 
Good people, awesome workouts!
They just added Marpo ropes to their gym. Tonight was the first test run and we had a BLAST. I’m excited to try them again. But mostly I just wish I had one in my living room to play with. 😝

When it comes to fitness finding a way to be ACTIVE that you don’t hate is huge. And life is short...if it doesn’t bring you joy..pick something else. Get out of your comfort zone...try something new!

I'm not gonna lie. I jogged in place to reach my 10000 step goal. And as I lay in bed with 10,011, it's obvious I'm not an over achiever... but a regular ass achiever. Alright ya’ll here’s another quick under 30 minute workout! It seems these days I’m so busy my only time to workout is in between clients / classes so it needs to be quick and effective!!

A late night ride and some deep reading.

At the end of Chapter 1, Francis Chan talks about looking at the countdown clock as he is on stage presenting, slowly coming to the end of the event. He writes - "Sometimes I pretend that the clock is a countdown of my life. I imagine that I'll be standing face-to-face with God when that timer expires. This gives me courage to say everything I think He would want me to say. If I really was going to die, I would care very little about people's complaints. I would be obsessed with seeing the face of God and wanting His approval." The last three to four weeks I've been in a funk. Can't really explain it, but Satan has a grip on my motivation and encouragement. I'm tired. I'm flustered. I can't think straight. My devotions have been off. I haven't been praying, reading, or listening. And those closest to me are feeling it.

It's time to snap out this funk!

Lord, help me from now on to live a life of wholehearted obedience to you. May today be a new start. Help me to obey you wholeheartedly.

Turkey burger: the actual burger: 99%FF meat mixed with ground zucchini and a touch of breadcrumbs. (0sp) topped with light jarlsberg cheese (1sp), SF bbq sauce (0sp) and a Safeway English muffin (3sp). **I added avocado to use some of my extra pumping points ;) Eggs (0sp)

😂 these girls are just the best. We warmed up with musical cones. Crab toe touch until the music stops then all hell breaks loose. Run and find a cone and hold a plank over it (and look out for kicks 🦵). If you didn’t get a cone hold a wall sit and do some snow angel work on the wall with those arms 😉. Yes! I just completed a 30 minute “winging it” Flow in my bedroom and I just feel more relaxed and happy. It’s been hard for me to actually make it to a class. I’ve taught a good number the last few weeks, but if I’m teaching I’m not practicing. 😟 Luckily, you don’t have to go to a studio, be in a class to do yoga. You can do it anywhere. Sometimes, you just need to listen to your body and breathe. In my classes I like to say listen and move with your body. Listen to what it’s telling you that it wants. Lay down, stand up, move your arms, stretch your legs, neck rolls... finding that calm to just listen is not as easy as it sounds. However, once you find the ability to listen, the movement is so freeing and relaxing. One day, I encourage you to find a space in your house - outside - anywhere - and just close your eyes, breathe, and start moving. Who cares what anyone else thinks. Just listen to your body and your breathe. See how it feels. I think you’ll feel free and relaxed and open. :)

😋Yum yum in my tum. Lunchtime refuel after a spin session. I grabbed some more Nuun hydration tabs yesterday for my spin because I drip copious amounts of sweat during a class. On the weekend I learnt the first lesson you should ever do when you see someone showing a product on IG, do your DUE DILIGENCE!!! Firstly nothing wrong with the person showing it or the product for different instances but for me if I'm hydrating before/during/after a spin I don't want to replace the cal burn I created with a sugary drink.  I had just run out of mine and thought OK I'll try something new. I do not  need 30g of sugar as rehydration. Much yummier ways to get that😜 This is how I work but what the hell would I know about the science 😂 You might think my lunch of fresh eggs, dash of cream and veges is shit too. But for me doing my daily workout water  would be all I'd need too but I like the taste and fizz of the Nuun when I'm working hard too. You do you 👊🏼

Just wanted to jump on here and post something I realized today. Look at all that green, I didn’t even work out today, I just moved. If working out isn’t you thing, or it’s difficult because you’re a beginner, or your injured, just move any way you can. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym, or break your back to make an impact to your health. I love a good hard workout but some days I just doesn’t happen. THAT’S OKAY! Balance your lives and prioritize in a way that works for you and is sustainable. Don’t scroll through Instagram and see all there intense workouts and thing that you have to do that every single day to make a positive impact, because you don’t! Small steps make long term changes. Happy Thursday!!!

Just enough time left in my day for an evening run.
.
Bit of a therapy run to release the stress of the day.  I spent my day with my Mom and a respiratory therapist, testing oxygen saturation, getting orders, etc. .
When you spend the day watching others who struggle with breathing, and you witness someone literally mourning over the loss of their freedom, their mobility, they simply feel overwhelmed because they can't do what they use to.... You realize what a gift being active is. .

Decided to do @kaisafit workout for my warmup (She’s my Personal Trainer Sherpa 😂😂)....5 mins and let me tell you that 5 mins will be enough to do all 4 exercises in 2 rounds to get you warmed up. 
Sometimes I record my lifts in slow mo to see my form, I never post it because I look stupid but does anybody else do this??? I care more about my form than the actual weight I’m lifting because honestly without good form your workout is useless 
Finished today’s workout with quite a burner! I made this for 5 rounds but I only did 3 because I’m a firm believer in listening to your body and my body said “girrrlllll, let’s go sit down for a little while” 😂😂 3-5 rounds for Time 😂: 20 pistol squats (alternating)

Moving doesn’t have to mean pre-planned sets and reps. ⁣

I stayed out to late and drank too much last night..... so, sticking to my normal workout routine today would just add to the stress level my body is under from lack of sleep. ⁣
⁣
But I also know moving helps me feel better. Plus, I’m in the prepping and planning stages of classes for FitShowgrrl so I decided to do some free movement and let my body be driven by music instead of my brain. ⁣
⁣
Exploring emotion and movement patterns and perhaps it would lead to inspiration. And if not, at least I recharged my soul. ✨

Most people probably aren't talking about it or sharing with their friends that their older child has problems staying dry at night. But, 3% of boys and 2% of girls are still wetting the bed by age 10.⁣

Just MOVE, momma! 🤸🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♂️🚲
It is crazy how chaotic life can get when a tiny little human becomes a part of it. Workouts aren't as long, spontaneous, intense, or consistent as they used to be, but I make them happen. There are some days when all I can manage is a walk or a hike or even just a handful of pushups. Sometimes I don't get any farther than tying my shoes. Other times I get a day like today, when the sun is shining and the baby is happy and I'm able to squeeze in 30 minutes of sunny, sweaty, glorious MOVING. I am learning to take it all in stride, embracing the bad days and enjoying the good days when they come. And every day, no matter how chaotic or exhausting, I try find some way to MOVE. It's what keeps me sane!

1 min bike (@17-18 rpm)
60 jumping jacks
100 singles 
60 high knees 
30 BW squats
Ended with about 15 minutes of snatch exercises with an empty bar. I would have liked to get some weight on the bar but my workout partner got fussy (wink wink). And when baby says you're done your workout, you're done.

Physical activity is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. It has been shown to have numerous health benefits, including: ⠀
1.Improved mood and decreased feelings of depression, anxiety and stress⠀
2. Building and maintaining strong muscles and bones⠀
3. Increased energy levels⠀

I also notice that when my physical activity for the week is low my mood is off, I can be a bit of a crabby Cathy and just no fun to be around! Being active has become a part of my morning ritual, its my version of morning coffee. One thing I have found helpful to get me going and out the door in the morning is packing my gym bag the night before and keeping it right by the front of the door. To take it a step further, I have started to put my gym clothes in the bathroom or at least already have them laid out so it is one less thing to think of when the alarm goes off at 5:45. These #hacks have been helpful in keeping me consistent with my exercise. ⠀

I filmed some of my workout today... but idk if I’ll do anything with it. I probably picked the worst day to film lol I just started my period so I’m bloated of course, not to mention I struggled throughout my workout because my body just feels weak and tired today😣 I’m just glad I showed up 💁🏽‍♀️ some days that’s all you can do.

How low can you go? Advantage Member @kylewandel showing us a great single leg valslide pistol squat. The valslide is a great tool for developing a pattern we may not be proficient at. •

We use valslides to help add a form of dynamic stability into a movement that some people may not be ready for. By allowing the second foot to stay connected to the ground we add a contact point allowing us to flow through the movement easier. All tools are only as good as how they are implemented. There’s plenty of BAD ways to use a valslide, but when used well it can be a great addition to anyone looking to help out a struggling pattern. •
