WATERMELON RIND JUICE
Who knew you can juice the rind of a watermelon? I must be late to the game, as I’ve just discovered this little gem & am enjoying my first watermelon rind juice. It’s surprisingly mild & refreshing! (I only used the rind from an organic watermelon & even that I scrubbed with a little mild dish soap before sending it through the juicer).
Watermelon rind is very nutritious & healing for the body:
One of the highest organic sodium foods in nature
One of the best sources of chlorophyll
Low in calories
High concentrations of vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, potassium, & zinc
Nutrient dense with chlorophyll, citrulline, lycopene, amino acids, & flavonoids & phenolic compounds
Excellent for healing skin conditions, high blood pressure, immune system support, weight loss, & is even referred to as “nature’s viagra.”
I feel like I just found a hidden treasure locked inside an already delicious, healing, summer favorite fruit! Try some watermelon rind juice for yourself. You may find some unexpected benefits!
