🤕 FIXING YOUR NECK 🤕
So how are we going to fix Liam’s neck? 🤔 Well, we can START by releasing his upper traps, the muscle that runs down from the top of the neck to the tip of the shoulder 🏼
If you tend to notice your shoulders creeping up towards your ears, or you get pain in the neck, jaw or shoulder, your upper trap could be one of the contributing factors! .
To release them, simply grab a ball and place it into the upper trap - along the line from the neck to the shoulder. From here, lean into the wall, find the sorest spot, and gently apply pressure to that spot. It should be uncomfortable without being painful - if it hurts you’re probably pushing too hard!!
30 seconds each side a few times each side should help relieve tension in the upper trap. BUT - this is just the start. Fixing the neck involves figuring out WHY your upper trap is tight in the first place - let’s treat the cause and not just the symptom, right?
