I spent many years repeating the typical diet cycle. 
We get tired of being overweight and out of shape.....so we restrict our calories to a ridiculous level, leaving us deprived and literally starving, thinking of nothing but when and what we can eat next.....then we start craving sweets and junk and whatever we can get our hands on because we are HUNGRY!!! So....what do we do?  We give in of course!  We're starving!  Then the guilt sets in!  You feel like a terrible person and a failure, because you didn't stick to the crazy diet that left you feeling empty.....so you then beat yourself up mentally and emotionally because you couldn't hang with the crazy diet!  Now you feel even worse about yourself!  That is not healthy on so many levels! 
Sound familiar?  Have you been there, too?  It's an awful and very frustrating feeling, isn't it? 
Wouldn't it be great if you could lose weight, get in shape and not feel like you're starving and deprived?  Well, you can!  I can show you a better, sustainable way to lose weight and improve your health!

That’s how long I’ve been showing up for myself since starting my health and wellness journey!

Has every day been perfect? Ummm...not even close, but it’s not about perfection for me, it’s about progress! 💯 It’s about being consistent in my actions and about showing up and doing the things I said I would do! 💯 It’s about proving to myself that I can do hard things! 💯 It’s about proving to myself that I’m WORTH it! 💯 It’s about being disciplined in my decisions and my actions. 💯 It’s about feeling my best and teaching my children what it looks like to do what you say you’re going to do.

So today I’m reflecting on my past 1,365 days and I’m feeling really PROUD of my personal growth, what I’ve learned and who I’ve become!

Was told “What happens when you get to your goal and start eating normal again? Are you going to just gain all the weight back?” What I am doing is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change. When I get to my goal, I will keep eating the correct way. It’s about moderation. The truth is I feel better and look better, so why in the hell would I go back to those bad habits.

I started my Health journey in April of this year and in 2 months, I have dropped 25 pounds!!! I have learned how to make a lot of good choices in what I eat! They have developed into HABITS! We don’t blink an eye when to comes to cows, pigs, chicken and other “traditional” livestock. We don’t even acknowledge anymore that these animals can also experience emotions. They don’t want to be killed just like we don’t want to be killed. 
It’s our perception that’s been molded by society that has made it acceptable kill animals inhumanely. We are outraged by things like the Yulin festival because they see dogs like livestock the same as we do with cows. So tell me what’s the difference between the two? Nothing.

Last week I would have finished my toddler's pasta salad and bread.  I sfill have a VERY hard time discarding food.  I didnt eat this tonight and I am proud of myself, but I cringed when I put the food down the disposal.

Cheesy Cauliflower Soup 🧀🥣 🔸️Reminder: You may add, remove, or substitute any ingredient(s) to align with your personal lifestyle! 🔸️Ingredients:
3 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
2 carrots, cut into 1-inch strips(matchsticks) 
2 shallots, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
4 c. Veggie broth 
1 tsp. salt 
1/2 tsp. garlic powder 
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper 
1/4 tsp. coriander 
1/4 tsp. paprika 
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 
1 large head (or 2 small/medium heads) cauliflower, cut into florets 
1/2 c. heavy cream 
1 c. grated cheddar cheese 
Freshly chopped parsley (optional garnish) 🔸️Directions: 
In a large pot, over medium-low heat, add the butter. Once melted, add the celery and saute for 3 minutes, then add the carrot, shallot, and garlic. Saute for 2 minutes. Add the flour. Whisk the flour until it turns golden brown, taking care not to burn. Gradually pour in the veggie broth, whisking continuously until combined. Turn heat up to medium and bring to a simmer. Add the salt, garlic powder, pepper, coriander, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Add the cauliflower, allow the soup to gently boil for 15 minutes, then remove 2 cups and puree in a food processor or blender until smooth. Return the mixture to the soup. Pour in the cream and continue to gently boil for an additional 10 minutes, then add the cheese and whisk to combine.
