Hi, let’s talk about smoothie bowls 🥣
I’m a sucker for an açai bowl when the sun is out...they contain sooo many nutrients and superfoods which is fab 👍🏼 but a lot of people don’t realise how many calories these little innocent “healthy” bowls can rack up which is not fab👎🏼 I made one this morning and decided to track the macros out of curiosity and it was DOUBLE my usual breakfast...🤯
I’m a strong believer in eating food that is good for your body instead of this “I can eat a McDonald’s for lunch and make it fit my macros”, but I also believe in eating consciously/intuitively and this means knowing how much your body needs to fuel it every day/ knowing how much fuel you’re putting in your tank from the food you eat. ⛽️ How many people have you heard say “I’m trying to be good I’ll take the healthy option and get the smoothie bowl”? I can guarantee it is 9/10 times higher in calories (and sugar!!) than the eggs and avo on toast or the bacon butty 🤥 so yeah just a fun fact about smoothie bowls🤓 they could be the reason you aren’t seeing any “results”. However this isn’t to say you shouldn’t enjoy one every now again cus they taste guuuud and they packed full of guuuud(ness).
This one was made using 1 frozen banana🍌 • 1/2 small avocado🥑 • 1 tbsp @bulkpowders_uk vegan protein powder🌱 • 1 tbsp @acaiberryfoods Açai powder • 100ml @innocent coconut milk🥛 • 1cup frozen blueberries • 3 medium strawberries + 1 for the topping🍓• lots of ice cubes • topped with 20g @kelloggs.uk reduced sugar vegan granola • 1 tbsp toasted coconut flakes🥥 • 1 tsp chia seeds • 1tsp of my homemade almond butter • Strawb for aesthetics 💁🏻‍♀️ 654 calories | C87 | F27 | P29 (sugar 38 grams = x3 bowls of cocopops🙄) Gonna experiment & come up with a recipe that’s lower on calories/ macros etc for the fellow smoothie bowl lovas 😘

10/10 for Antibes 🇨🇵 We weren't even going to bother going. If the big yellow thing in the sky had made an appearance I'd have stayed for the day. Its only 15/20 minutes from Nice on the train. My favourite by far.

🧘‍♀️I have never sat down and dedicated time to practicing mindfulness but the concept of living in the moment and being fully present is definitely something I would aspire to. In this modern age with its constant distractions, giving full attention to anything is a challenge. With one foot behind, ruminating over past events, and one foot in front, agonizing over the future, there is little space for the here and now. .

🌟Whenever you can, take a moment to stop, switch off and savour....easy for me to say as I’m on holiday but still, I think it’s a good message to keep in mind. Happy Thursday 👍

🤕 To produce the most amount of force as safely as possible, what we want to do is maximise stability in our setup. This can be done by maintaining 3 points of contact with the bench at all times. This allows us to "push through" these 3 points and press with the most efficient form possible. This of course is more of a powerlifting style set up, with the pecs actually at a slight decline. That being said pec size is strongly correlated with 1RM bench press (Akagi et al. 2014) so if this set up allows for greater mechanical tension it may be favourable in the long term 🤙⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s all higher reps lower weights, which is completely different from what I have been doing the last 6 months, but it’s been great cos I love a challenge 🤸‍♂️ Last week I felt wiped all the time but my energy’s back this week 🙌

After a long 6 months in the land down under & being a lazy ass bitch it’s about time I got back to doing what I love ❤️Here’s my first proper leg day in Ireland since I got home 🥰  Have a go & let me know what you think 😏
1️⃣ Leg Press 4 x 12 (Add that 3 second negative for a burn)
2️⃣ RDL - 4 x 8 . I personally like using Dumbbells some like a bar, either works, I also stand to the side so I can keep an eye on my back making sure it stays straight & looking for that pull in the hams not the lower back 🙌🏼 Squeeze those Glutes at the top 🍑
3️⃣ Leg Extension 🔥 4 x 12 . These are my favorite for legs & can really help grow those quads 😏
4️⃣ Calf Raise 4 x 12 Get that slight pause at the top, trust me when you reach 8 you’ll be wishing you were done 🙃 Wobbly legs 🥴
