Designer in Focus: Maureen Jeanes from Jeanes Interiors is one of our favourite Sydney Interior Designers and human beings. We are constantly inspired by her creativity and ability to transform any space into a beautiful oasis for the body mind and spirit.
Maureen’s career began in the mid to late 80s in dress design and later transitioned into project management and interior decorating, working predominantly with a seriously talented mother who is an interior designer, dress maker, artist and singer.
Working with leather, feathers, sequins and fur in the fabulous 80s we reinvented ourselves in the 90s and were jolted back to reality in the world of commercial interiors and office fit-outs and finally to where I want to be today designing and styling beautiful homes for fabulous clients.
Our homes are our sanctuary and so many aspects must meld and morph to create a space that makes us want to embrace and love life. Combinations of colour, texture, light and space integrated with beautiful pieces that make us feel special. Ancient wisdoms mixed with modern conveniences and natural materials, botanical and ecological.
Harmony is essential in a commercial workspace both ethical and practical, producing an environment that encourages creativity and productivity. Feng Shui principles are helpful and valuable tools in design and planning which I promote and respect.
If we can live and work in places that make us happy then we energise and connect with the matrix of life.
