The most frequent question I've heard in the last 5 years. Well, thats a question for discussion. I've got beautiful ways of interpreting it. To immortalize that pain in your voice. But, thats all bullshit! I can beautify the pain, by saying that it will make you stronger, independent, make you more...you. But thats all words, isn't it? Useless advice! I hate them too! Gimme a five!
But, what about that moment you ask me that question. No one cares about that moment. Nobody does ever care about you at that moment. And I don't blame them. They are doing what they think is going to comfort you. Sometimes that will do. Sometimes you'll get the courage to survive that pain by hoping for a braver tomorrow. Thats good.
But sometimes, nothing works. Sometimes, you should be left with a silence as an answer. All you will need is someone to see your pain, hear it out and stay. 'Cause for once, you'll want to make yourself believe that someone will stay.
You've got them, right? The people who will bring you a bottle of beer and cry with you? They won't promise you a better tomorrow, but will sit with you by the bank of the river at this hour of the night and smoke with you. They won't bring you a sweater to save you from the cold night, rather they'll say, "Saale, mar ja." They'll stay to hear your rants all night and will hear them for the coming days too. They will come with you to climb that hilltop, so that you could scream your lungs out. They will protect you from those "angels" and will leave you to your demons. Thats good, because for once, thats all what you want. And I guess, that will do you good. They know. Because they stayed.
You got them. And if you think you haven't, look around. You'll find them. Atleast one of them. Even if you say you are alone, you aren't. There will be someone or something for you. Be it a person or a dog or a boat or the river or the fire... You got something.
And after many such countless nights, its all going to be fine. And in the end when you take that final puff of smoke, they'll ask, "Sale, ye dukh kaahe khatam nahi hota bey?" You'll smile at that. And when you do, remember me. Thats all what I ever want.
